Hello everyone, was wondering if anyone has cut the high beam wire from the low beam and ran high beam separate to the fuse box using a wire tap? I like the diode Dynamics bumper lights , however they’re a little pricey . Thanks guys!

Maybe I’m missing what you’re trying to do, or maybe you can explain better. The high and low beam driver circuits are separate from each other and go from the headlights straight to the BCM via the front end connector.

I have a 16 big horn with the quad headlights. There is not an option for DRL’s. Even with putting in codes. I’m just trying to create DRL’s using either the fog lights or the high beams. I’ve done it to prior vehicles using the fog lights . I just cut the wires and run them to the fuse box with a fuse tap . Never has a problem. I hate to do that with this truck , but after market lights are so expensive

Oh man yes there is a very easy way to add DRL to your truck.

Search Alfa OBD and read the first post. Many many many Ram owners have turned on their DRL and many other things using that tool.

You can turn on whatever you want to use for DRLs via programming. Check into this thread- https://www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/
If you already have an Android device or a windows laptop, it’ll cost you ~$120-130 total. I think it’s the better option than cutting wires. Plus, I think the only way you could do it tapping wires and ONLY having the DRLs on, you would have to add a switch. With the programming, you would activate them just like the dealer would.
