Took advantage of a nice afternoon (in between the rain) to install my DRLs.

These are hooked up on a 5 pin relay, to allow them to turn off when the parking lights are turned on. :rocking:

video of them working:

Not a bad install, just found a fuse to tap into for power to the relay, couple grounds, splice into the parking lights, bam. :D

And a couple pics here too:

I can't wait to get out and park somewhere, see how far away I can see 'em. They'll be on when I remote start the truck, so that will make it easy to see! :D

nope!

I've had it out before (when I swapped bumpers), so I remembered how it came out.

Basically, you have 6 push pins in the top. They have a pin within a pin setup. A trim removal tool works great to get those out. Then, the bottom has a couple of inner "clips". push up on those and the thing pops out.

Pretty simple on the removal. Install was easier. :D

And, if you don't run a front plate........the DRLs will fit in the smaller section in between the "tow hook" area. Just depends on what you are after for looks there.

spiffy!

Here's some notes for you. Wiring genius comes from myoung - I suck at this stuff!

here's what you'll need:
- 5 pin relay and pigtail
- little bit of extra wire, depending on your application. I needed about.....16" more for my run to the fuse box.

So, here's what I did

0032.jpg

Pins:
30 - ran to the fuse box - I found one that comes on when the truck is running
85 - ground
86 - parking lights (or whatever you want it to trigger "off" from
87 - 12V from the xDRLs
87a - not used for this

I found a fuse in the box that came on with power:
