Dropping a Quad Cab....

Well, we got the front done on a customer's Dodge Ram today. The truck is being dropped 4/6 with a McGaughy's drop kit. We started on the rear today also, just ran out of daylight....I will post pics tomorrow. When we get the rear end installed, I will take it to a buddy's shop to have the c-notch plasmacut out of the frame...be a much cleaner cut.

Lol. That was taken right after they were removed. They were set up on a wooden block during the install. Bad thing is, customer's brakes are so worn out, the calipers wouldn't even come off the rotors. Told the customer he needs to replace those asap! He works on the river on a boat, so he only gets to work on it when he comes in and gets paid.....

No, they weren't, my son took them off, first time he had done it, and I was actually inside talking with a customer about some parts when he did it. Corrected that as soon as I came back out.

On my truck (2/4.5) I used 1-5/8" polyurthene bumper in place of the cups and don't rub the inner fender well. Anything shorter and it'll rub on full compression. If you want pictures let me know.

Yea, I read your post on DodgeTalk I believe. The kit didn't come with any bump stops and he didn't purchase any or bring any, so I will suggest them to him when he picks the truck up.

You will need to knock the bump cups off just for the front to sit on the springs otherwise it be sitting on the OEM bumps.

He eventually wants to airbag it....but it needs a LOT more work before that happens....

They haven't came out with a lowering kit for it yet unless DJM has one. I have to call McGaughy's Monday anyway, so I will ask them if they have a kit yet. I know they have one for the 2wd.
