I've got a 2022 drw ram 3500.

I like to keep things simple and boiled down tore selection to
Falken wildpeak at4w
Toyo open country at3
Falken wildpeak H/t02

The first two are classified as off-road All terrain while the last is highway. The labels are clear. But what is the actual differences and pros and cons of getting off-road vs highway. The off-road ones are just as tow capable? I like the look of off-road better, had great experiences with the toyos in my tundras , and extra grip dropping the boat into the water would be a perk.

This is a personal vehicle and not commercial. Here is my use breakdown.

- 80% daily driving around town and complaining how bad the ride is, how terrible the turning radius is, how bad it is to park, and how slow it is to merge.

- 10% towing light trailer like UTV trailer or boat. It's a dream to tow these things, but dropping boat into water is a bit sketchy as rear tires have poor grip and 4wd is only way to not spin through at launch ramp.

- 10% towing 20,000 lb 5th wheel. Wow, where it really shines and blows away my SRW towing experience.

I value less maintenance over marginal performance advantages (in case it's a question of one needing to be balanced less often and such)

Recommendations?

I'm curious as well, I want a more aggressive tire and maybe one size bigger.

Main concern is the ability to carry the weight you need. Make sure they have the needed load rating and you keep them at a high enough PSI. I'll let you do the research as far as the needed load rating and whether or not these tires have it. I suspect the at4w and at3 will have versions with a high enough rating, the h/t02 being a highway tire almost certainly will.

How slow it is to merge will only be affected by what size, and therefore weight and OD, you end up going with. The tire model (for all intents and purposes) won't matter.

h/t02 will be a little more quiet on the highway and possibly a little better milage, but the other two aren't supper aggressive either so you may not actually see much difference between the 3. h/t02 will also likely be made of a harder compound making them last longer. That said, some people say their tires always last 50-60k miles and there's people like me who have yet to make it to 30K on a set, so who knows.

Trying to get up the boat ramp, the at4w and at3 will be softer and have a better tread pattern for any rocks and sand that may be on the ramp. Is that enough to get up in 2wd? No idea.

My logic is that is you have a 2wd then you are gonna struggle in snow/mud/uneven terrain anyway, so you might as well go with a highway tire to try and get the best milage. But if you have 4wd, then a good all terrain at the minimum or even a M/T if you do a lot of offroading.

I don't have experience with the tires you listed, but for ATs I've had great success with Cooper Discoverer AT3s on my previous 3500 DRW. I have just as much success with my current Michelin Defender LTX on my 2500 (though a true street tire).

I'm with rzr... if you have a 2wd you might as well get a street tire. The only advantage to an AT tire comes if you need 4wd. If you have 4wd, then I'd likely steer towards an AT tire of some sort.

I know both Cooper and Michelin have Load Range E tires. I'm sure the others do as well.

With mostly highway /in-town driving, I recommend taking a look at the Michelin Defender LTX M/S in Range-E.

Phenomenal tires for quite, comfortable driving with exceptional handling characteristics, especially on wet roads and in deeper water. They also have long wearing tread life as well.

The Michelin warranty is also top notch, too.
