Hey everyone, I'm looking around for any companies who make a dual set-up for an 02 1500 4.7, but I can't find any. I'm just seeing if anyone knows of any aftermarket companies who might possibly sell a dual set up from the muffler to the tail pipe. I'm going to throw a borla xr-1 muffler on there with two exhaust tips (hopefully, if I can find a dual set-up). Does anyone know of any aftermarket companies who sells a dual set-up already made? Thanks for the help in advance!

Yeah the piping, my neighbor said if I can find one that's already made, then he can install it, but he doesn't want to bend the pipes and **** since he doesn't have the tools to do so..

I'm not exactly sure of the lengths of the pipes I will need so it would be in my best interest to find one that's already made

already made ones are nice. I'm sure Duane could find you a setup. But most of the time you will either bend the tubes to make the exhaust or get lots of pre cut tubes and weld it up yourself. Check out some exhaust shops and see how much it would cost for them to fab one up with all the hangers and such.

hmm alright, i really don't know the length i'll need for the pipes so i don't want to buy too much or too little, and i assume they're gonna need to measure under the truck or something before they actually bend the pipes and weld them together?

^^^this is true. That's why mine is falling apart. The guys just bent the tube but they didn't protect it in any way. The welds are all about rusted off and the pipes hold water.

The shop that did mine has poor welds past the muffler but its not causing any harm at the moment.

im gonna get a dual out xr-1 so he said he will make two pipes and that would be like 320 or 330 bucks including labor...does that sound like a rip off? he said it would be easier to get a dual out muffler rather than make a y-pipe and then two pipes to split it.

I didn't pay for anything yet, I told him i would call him tomorrow..

edit: I don't think borla makes an xr-1 with a dual out, it's not on their site...........

That's not horrible. A dual out is the best. No y pipes to worry about. But that does increase the price. Others will chime in with what they know. I know mine will be totally different cause I'm gonna do a true dual setup all the way back with no cats. lol

i really wanted the xr-1 but it's only a single out muffler..unless i have the y-pipe made, and the two exhaust pipes as well...but i don't really feel like dropping half a grand on just the pipes alone..I still need to buy the muffler and have that **** put on..

he said it's about 80 bucks to make the Y to connect the two pipes to the muffler so I'm looking at around $450ish, not including myself buying the muffler, which will be about 150, and I need to buy another exhaust tip

Yea that's getting a bit much. Most guys I hear about will spend 350 with the muffler and everything welded in place. See how much Duane has a magnaflow Y-pipe for. I think I saw a thread around with that in it. But 500 for all is a bit much. Did you check ebay???

I got a y pipe from jegs for like 40 dollars i think. 2.5 is what you need. But why get a y pipe to a single in to a y pipe single out to fake dual.

Just buy a dual in dual out muffler and let the shop bent the pipes and be done son.
