2014 crew cab sport. 4x4 20x12 wheels with street tires. Of course the 8speed with 3.21 gears.

Mods:

Stock throttle body

Vararam intake

ARH 1 3/4 cattless long tubes

Magnaflow direct replacement 18” muffler

Custom dyno tune using CMR software with my diablosport I3 tuner by Brent Hughes of DTP Racing in Chesapeake Va.

90 degrees and humid today. Dynoed with 20x12 wheels as well

Results:

374.2rwhp
380.6rwtq

Sounds good. Runs good. Can’t wait for cooler weather.

Next may be fan delete and 180 thermostat.

Opinions, suggestions etc welcomed as are track tips. Going to run 1/8th this weekend.

Sweet, any idea what gear it was ran in? What size tires? Any opportunity to do a 1/4 mile run?

No idea. I had my little girl this entire week so I didn’t get to be there during the tubing. Tires are 285/50r20 on 20x12 wheels.

Try launching it in both 2wheel and 4 wheel mode,if it'll hook it'll be faster in 2 wheel mode. Most guys find the trucks to be faster launching off idle, but try both off idle and loading the convertor to matbe 1500 rpm,you have to learn what the truck likes. When you try launching in 2 wheel mode, drive around the water box if you can,and just do a short little hop to clean the tires and put just a bit of heat in the tires, most street tires don't like being hot.Drop the rear tires to about 24 to at most 28 psi for your 2 wheel launch.Run it in both tow/haul mode and normal mode, mines a wee bit quicker in tow/haul mode.Good luck and let us know how it runs. Most of all pay attention to the truck,it'll let you know what it likes, lol.

Thanks Gary. Another thing if you run where it's hot, take that stupid plastic engine cover off and leave it at home. All it does is trap heat and heat soak the intake manifold. Try to get the hood open as much as you can even in the staging lanes if they'll let you.If you have time, throw a 180 t-stat in,even if you don't do the clutch fan delete. With the mechanical fan still on,you should run noticeably cooler even with-out changing anything in your tune,as the clutch fan will still pull air through the rad.Depending on how energetic you are a lot of guys drop the spare tire and tailgate, but if this is your first time at the track with it,you might be better off with them on,as they'll help with traction in 2wheel mode.If you find the truck runs by better in 4X4 then drop the tailgate and spare as you shouldn't have any traction problems in 4X4. Play with the traction control button to,in 4X4 mode it won't spin, but in 2 wheel ,odds are till you get used to the truck you might have bad wheelspin and the traction control just might help you get it out of the hole. It's all practice and expermentation though. Your tires will hurt you a bit though,as they sound like they're fairly heavy.

I thought I read on here somewhere that the pcm in these trucks adjust if you try to load the converter and end up hurting your times. Any validity?

They do,it'll pull timing, but some guys are reporting faster times loading the convertor, mines faster launching from idle. You have to experiment to find what your truck likes,as you'll never learn what the truck likes if you don't experiment, lol

I have always had better et's launching off idle. But thats just been my experience.

Doing the clutch fan delete & 180* t-stat was worth it in my opinion. I havent had any cooling issues.

Which Efan are you guys using?

A lot of us are just using the factory e-fan that's already on the trucks. I wouldn't buy the V-6 fan till you actually try it with the fan you have. Gary's Hemi has nothing but the OEM fan on his,and he has towed in some mighty hot weather with no issues.I've never had any heating issues with mine ,just using the stock electric fan. My fan is set to come on at 196F and shuts off at about 187F. If you do spring for a V-6 fan, by most reports you're better off buying the OEM fan from the dealer,as there's apparently a few issues with the aftermarket electric fans from TYC etc.
