I am completely stumped with my 2011 Ram 2500 with the 5.7 Hemi, thought I had a fuel pump issue. Replaced pump, and truck ran for a few days great. Lightning bolt idiot light was coming on but truck would start good. After a few days the Lightning bolt came on and stayed and truck became hard to start. Pulled code and got P0113 (intake air temp sensor), P0123 (throttle/pedal/post sensor switch A circuit High), and P0222 (throttle/pedal/post sensor switch B circuit low). I replaced throttle body and truck drove great and throws no codes. After about two days lightening bolt came back on but truck started. Next morning truck tried to start, then wouldn’t. Pulled negative terminal loose waited for a while; replaced and truck started, had to do this a couple times. Truck started and ran great for a couple of days, now the lightening bolt stays on and truck will not start, and does not give any codes. I replaced the pedal assembly, pulled negative terminal and left-over night. Reconnected it this morning and let set for over an hour before trying to start. Will not start and still no codes.

I am lost at this point but expecting it to be the ECM. Thanks for any input.

Honestly its almost never the ECM lol Did you have your battery and alternator tested? sounds like your issue.

Not sure what I would be testing them for? High voltage? Low voltage?

AutoZone can test alternator bet its your issue since you said volt kept coming on and off it would be under charging . Or if you get the truck running take a volt meter put leads on battery should read 14v or so.

Also if your battery is more then 3 years old replace it aswell.

Battery is less than a year old. I just used a jumper wire to check fuel pump relay. Fuel pump came on and truck started with no hesitation. Looks like I will either bypass the relay for purchase a reman ECM.

You mean TIPM not ECM its not hard to take apart and re solder on a new relay they cost $5 had to do it on my 2011 few vids around I will link some later.

If you can’t get it to a store for load testing, a volt meter at the battery terminals will show you if you are charging or not. I expect 14 volts, or in the neighborhood when the alternator is doing its thing. If just 12 or so, you can typically count on it being the alternator.

I also recall a bad alternator can damage a good battery. So that I was never left stranded, when alternators went bad, I always changed the battery too. Maybe I am being too paranoid but that is what I have done.
