I'm hoping someone here has some advice for me. I have one reverse light. I'm wondering if i can splice into the power wire from the other side to power the one that has some issue. I've tried a bulb and no go so I'm assuming I have a wiring issue. I don't want to take to the dealer right now to fix properly, I just need this to work to get my inspection.

Im pretty sure you could... but then again its probably a problem with the actual sockets or what ever its called. Ive heard thats a common problem in some of these years. Try switching the left and right ones and see what happens

Do you have a DMM? Test the socket with a good ground. If no go, test the wire that goes in the back of the socket. If no go, trace the wire until you either find a break, or it enters the cab, and test it there, you probably just gouged the wire while you were off road or something, and a quick splice would fix your problem.

Check fuses, although it would be odd for the two reveres lights to be wired on totally different circuits. Your idea will work if you just splice into the "hot" wire for the other tail-light, but it is kind of a "gypsy" solution as far as permanent fixes go.

Often times the white socket holder on te back of the taillight go bad
There is actually am odd circuit board in there and the "wires" inside of it are known to break

Sorry I should have been more specific, this problem is not on my Ram but on my car. I just need to get this one light to work long enough to get inspected. The car is a Cadillac sts. And everything to do with this car is expensive to fix which is why I don't want to go to the dealer. Once inspected I don't care if works or not because I'm planning on selling it before the year is out. I know all cars are different but I'm just looking for a yes or no on the theory of splicing it to get to work. Thanks for the replies so far.

Yes, it will work.
