Update, I got my Tazer yesterday and have been playing around with it learning how to use it. I can honestly say the Tazer is much better to use than trying to figure out what BCM changes to do. The Tazer simplifies everything to basically menu options on your instrument cluster. I contacted them today about the 8.4 SRT menu's and making them functional and I'll post when I hear something back.
In the meantime a few options I like so far using the Tazer (available for 2013+Ram)
1 - "Light Show" This can be easily activated with the key fob. You can use preset light settings or customize your own. I like this because instead of using the standard "Hazard" lights I can program all the lighting to do what I want when activated. This is much more effective than the standard "Hazard" light option especially if your on the side of the road for whatever reason.
2 - Engine and Transmission modes. These modes can be selected using the Tazer even though you can't access them using the 8.4 radio as of now. Currently I have my Ram's engine and transmission set to "Track" mode and OMG the difference in over all performance is amazing. Of course this can be further enhanced if you have HPTuners so you can modify the different engine and transmission settings in the tune. Note this applies to the 8speed transmission and not the 5speed. No I don't know what all the mode settings do as you have the options of (Track,Sport,Auto,ECO and another one). I just set both to "Track" and my Ram gets up and goes and shifts perfectly.
3 - "Line Lock" - While the Tazer is plugged in you can activate a line lock using two buttons on the steering wheel. I tried this today and it works great.....lol
4 - "ESP/Traction control" disable - While the Tazer is plugged in you can totally disable the ESP and Traction control in 2WD to have some fun like others in winter weather without having to worry about the ESP kicking in when your in 2WD mode. The only side effect is to disable this you need to turn the truck off and then back on again. You can totally disable the ESP/Traction in 4WD but you can't in 2WD.
There are many features the Tazer allows you too do and basically its a simplified and effective way to change BCM settings without the guess work as they have already done the work for you and narrowed it down to simple menu options. My only issue so far is every once and a while when making menu selections the Tazer would hang up and I'd have to shut my truck off and restart(power only, not engine running)
The Tazer for my 2016 Ram costed $250, I also already had my pcm unlocked through HPTuners so that was done and out of the way. For all the time I've spent trying to figure out different BCM settings to enable options using AlphaOBD I should have just purchased the Tazer to begin with. The one option though that AlphaOBD could do and the Tazer so far can't do is enable the trailer tow package which enables the factory trailer brake controller to work. I contacted them today as once I married the Tazer to my truck the brake controller no longer works.
Again I'll post with updates when I get them.......

Here is some info I found about the driving modes:

  • Sport Mode: Designed for spirited driving, it provides sharper acceleration (high throttle responsiveness), tighter steering for better feedback, and holds gears longer, preventing early shifts to higher gears for maximum power. It often alters power distribution (e.g., 65% rear/35% front).
  • Eco Mode: Focuses on fuel efficiency, often causing the engine to operate in a lower RPM range and potentially utilizing cylinder deactivation (MDS). It may cause the transmission to upshift earlier and downshift later.
  • Track Mode: Offers maximum performance with the stiffest suspension, firmest steering (little to no assist), and most aggressive transmission mapping (holds gears longest, fastest downshifts). It typically shifts power more to the rear (e.g., 70% rear/30% front).
  • Performance Differences:
    • Suspension: Auto/Street is softest; Sport is firmer; Track is stiffest.
    • Throttle: Eco/Normal is moderate; Sport is responsive; Track is very responsive.
    • Power Split: Eco/Normal is generally 60/40; Sport is 65/35; Track is 70/30 (rear/front).
Key Considerations
  • Usage: Sport/Track modes are not ideal for towing or fuel efficiency, but great for performance.
  • MDS/Lifters: Some users avoid Eco mode to prevent the Multi-Displacement System (MDS) from activating frequently, which can be linked to lifter issues.
  • Customization: Many trucks allow customization (e.g., in a "Custom" mode) to mix settings like Sport steering with a more comfortable suspension.
This would explain why in Track mode my truck really responds more quickly. Maybe Sport mode would be more beneficial for me but I'm currently happy with Track mode for a daily driver.
Now yesterday a feature was very helpful. I was able to totally disable ESP/Traction to get out of 12 inches of snow using regular street radial tires. I actually lost traction and I thought I was stuck, I disabled the ESP/Traction control and was able to get out of a stuck situation using 4WD Low with the ESP/Traction disabled.
Currently, my Tazer purchase just saved me $$$ from being towed out. I highly recommend anyone to use the Tazer Vs making changes with AlphaOBD....
Also being unlocked with HPTuners also opens up more possibilities for modifications.
After using the Tazer the only benefit AlphaOBD has done for me with my 2016 Ram is to unlock the trailer tow controller. I'm still waiting for a response from the Tazer group as to why my Trailer Tow option has been disabled, but I would definitely recommend the Tazer for anyone with a 2013+ Ram.

My trailer tow option was resolved by unmarying the Tazer, Restoring the vehicle configuration with my AlphaOBD that had the trailer tow package enabled and then remarrying the Tazer and then enabling options using the Tazer. My trailer tow controller works again and I still have all the features of the Tazer working. As for the Uconnect controls for SRT pages, I'm still waiting for a response on that.
