I was checking my fluids and air filter a couple days ago and discovered oil streaked across my air filter. And it looks like sludge around the top of the air box.

I checked the pcv valve and it's fine. I can't think of what else could be the issue. Only thing I can think of is adding a catch can.

I'm about to add a cai, so I need to fix the issue first. Truck is a 5.7 hemi.

Outside or inside of air filter, front or back on factory box? Does truck use oil between changes? how many miles on truck, you use 20 weight oil?

If it’s oil on top of the filter, then it came from the breather. If you do a lot of “spirited” driving some oil can get pushed out of the breather port.

How did you check the PCV valve? Did you remove it?

Oil is coming the the breather tube. I haven't changed the oil on in it yet. Just bought it a few months ago. It's a 2014 with 195,000. I try not to push it too hard. Yes has 5w20 in it.

I removed the pcv valve. It wasn't stuck open or closed, so I assumed it is still good.
