Engine replacement, anything need to be done with the ecu, flash, have to take to a dealer, anything that will make it more than a weekend project?TIA

Helps if you provide more info,are you sticking a new crate engine in it,or a long block assembly,and who's engine,is it a new Mopar crate engine,a junkyard engine etc.

My truck is a 2015 Ram 1500, with a 5.7l Hemi. I found an engine out of a 2020 wrecked Ram 1500 with 25,000 miles on it. So the vin match the 8th letter and the both have 5.7l Heim in them. I understand that there will be gaskets, bolts, fluids, and other odds and ends that will need to replace. I’m more looking for is there anything needed for the ECU, or can I just swap the motor out and if all worked correctly on the transplant motor, will be able to start and run correctly.

If you use your original sensors from your old engine,it's a plug-n-play swap,as long are both 8 speeds,if your truck still happens to have the 6 speed,you'll have to swap the pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft

Was this Ram white?
Did it come from Louisiana?
Did it have "JHoward" etched on one of the valve covers?

EDIT: He had a 2017. So, nevermind.
