i have never done a car/truck exhaust so i have a few comments and questions for every one.

I have a 5.7 2011 and iam looking for an exhaust i dont have to do any welding.

looking for something loud and duel because i have a big horn.

i have always been a fan of the flow master but i was told they rot out easy and since i live in an area with lots of snow and salt not sure the flow master is the best.... any one disagree ?

in my state we have emissions testing... if i get an exhaust will it mess this up ?

I also dont wanna spend an arm and a leg ( no more then like 400 bucks if i could ) is their any exhaust that fits in my brackets by chance ?

ive had problems before with flowmaster, the insides fall apart and start to sound like a metal bucket full of empty beer cans rattling around.

if your looking to spend around $400 you can eaisly go to an exhaust shop and have what you want done. I would suggest magnaflow.
as for emissions, as long as you have cat converters and a muffler you should be golden.

Just so happens that Mufflex makes a kit that bolts right in the location of the factory muffler. They use Magnaflow mufflers to make their kits. Check out the link to their site. I have the 14" kit and love it.

electric cut outs are always a thought, just don't let them know about the cut out, because they're illegal.

yeah, my cutout is illegal............but I don't have to get it inspected until its 5 years old. LOL - I probably won't own it then! If I do.......I have the pipe that I cut out, I'll stick it back in there for the inspection.

from what i have seen others write about the kit....get a better front clamp....they say the one that comes with it sucks(I have not had an issue yet with it though).....also for taking the stock stuff off......use pb blaster first. I had a hell of a time getting the tail pipes and muffler off.

what size do you think you will get? I def recommend the 14" kit.

Do you have to pass a DB rating or does it just need a muffler?

yes i will get the 14'' kit and for inspection ya the truck needs a muffler.... they also test emissions how they do this is beyond me... i work 3eds so when my truck needs an inspection i just let my dad drive it in while iam sleeping but i think it has to do with being hooked up to a computer and all that

i don't know where hemi_hawk lives, but in PA we have a yearly emissions inspection. I know the exhaust is hooked up to a computer. I don't know if db is considered, but i have been told that a exhaust without a muffler would not pass.
