I have a 2017 1500 5.7 37k with broke exhaust manifold bolts, apparently this is a common problem covered under warranty to 50k or 5 years anybody else have this problem?? My son has a 2015 Shaker Challenger similar mileage hasn't had this problem.

Check out the 4th gen section of this forum (2009-19) and do a search for broken manifold bolts. The results should be endless, has been a problem pretty much the entire run of the 4th generation although I do think they used slightly better bolts starting somewhere around 13, but still they have some issues. I had to have them replaced under warranty on my 2011, but my 2013 was fine and so far my 2017 has been but only at 30k miles and traded the last one at 53k. My 2011 was done around 55-60k or so.

Can't speak for the Challengers, does his have the same 5.7 or a 6.4?

Yes it has a lot to due the aluminum heads and heat dissipation of the stock short pipes running of the manifold. Remove the exhaust manifolds, heat shields, and gaskets on each side. Sometimes you get lucky and can back the broken bolts out and if not just weld a nut to the broken bolt/stud and use a wrench to back them out, wirefed welds wont stick to aluminum

My 13 Hemi Challenger had a 6 spd stick and I drove that car for 130k without any problem with exhaust. All car ever needed was a rotor, waterpump and alternator.Today I met an original owner of a 09 Charger with 204k and no issues.Hope my 13 Ram is as good.So far its good at 128k or so on the clock

I had a 2008 Chevrolet 1500 Vortec Max that needed exhaust manifold bolts at 60k - the L76 is all aluminum. It’s not just a Ram thing.
