Hey hemi450hp. I'm looking at the jba shorties for mine, as I was told that the long tubes aren't worth it unless you have other internal engine mods (which I'm not planning to do) anyways you said that the shorties are designed to to boot to the factory y-pipe (which is crappy) would Magnaflow have a nicely built y-pipe that would work for this instead (as I have the Magnaflow 15363 all black exhaust on the way)

Long tubes produce more horsepower no matter what engine mods you have. They are well worth it over shorties

Yes I agree with you but I was told by many people that unless your going with the high engine mods and you looking for more top end performance they aren't worth the higher price tag. Now I don't know much about headers since I've never had a set.

Correct. I would stick with the 1 3/4". The 1 7/8" are more designed for guys with boost or nitrous as they will give more top end power, but cause a loss of low end power.
Just so I know. What size primary would be best for my application 2016 RAM R/T 8spd 3.92 gears. I'm leaning for 17/8" because I've been told by fellow R/T owners that 1/78" r fine on r trucks.

Jonathan,

Longtubes will always outperform shorty headers. Shorties on these trucks are only good for about 8-12hp, and I doubt you are going to feel much from that with your big lift and tires. If you are looking to add headers for performance, then I would go with 1 3/4" longtubes with cats.

If you plan to go to the track every week and are more focused on chasing down the fastest track time you can get, then the 1 7/8" work well. If you care more about tq and mid range power to make the truck more responsive for everyday driving, then the 1 3/4" are a better option.

I ended up going with a cut out on mine. Could not be happier. Loud by myself, quiet while the wife is with me. Great start up sound.

I went with the QTP

Hey Hemi,

Thanks for the info will the long tubes bolt straight up to my magnaflow exhaust or will I have to do so modding? Hmm looks like I'm gonna have to look at some custom tunes now for my Diablo tuner [emoji48]

Yes sir. Both the ARH and JBA longtubes bolt right up to your existing exhaust, so they will work with your new catback exhaust.

Thank you Matt! This helps me out a lot, I don't plan on tracking my truck and I have more fun roasting tires with it =) I would enjoy the tq down low and throttle response more with it.

I am going with one of your HPS cams. now with a CAM swap would 17/8" be the better Choice?

Thanks
