Figured I'd start an interesting thread for how loud our different Exhuast setups are at cold start.

I Downloaded "Sound Decibel Meter" off the Google play store. I've included a picture so you can see which one it is.

Apple users I'm not sure what app you can use. But if someone on apple can pick one then everyone else can use it.

Let's see those readings! And what setup you have installed! I recorded about 50 seconds and then screen shot the results.

Obviously a standalone decibel meter would be best but this will give others a good visual of how loud each setup is at cold start when it is loudest. Have the app or meter in your hand standing about 4 feet from the back of you're truck.

My Exhuast setup is a 22" Magnaflow 3" inlet dual 2.5" outlet with factory resonators and 5" tips.

I really like the sound of my 2024 1500 stock exhaust.
There several RAM 1500's around here with aftermarket exhausts. Too loud for me!
Yeah, my days of running around with cut off Thrush Mufflers ending behind the front seat are LONG Over. Back than, ran true duals to thrush mufflers, no cats those days, just a wee bit loud.

I was famous for using the old header mufflers as an exhaust when i was like 16 to maybe 20,the ones that after about a month were just a hollow 2ft extension off the headers :waytogo:
My Dad hated them,as he could hear me turn off the highway onto our gravel road which was a smidge over 2 miles south of the farm.
As a teenage nutbar, the pedal was always buried when i hit the gravel road:Big Laugh:

I like my daily driver nice and quiet so I can hear the stereo and converse with passengers. My fun cars are loud, if I get the urge to make some noise I have options…
