Hello all,

Maybe a stupid question, but does anyone have any reason NOT to run with the factory engine cover on? Mine happens to be the 6.4, but I would guess this would apply to any engine. I would think leaving the cover off would help with heat dissipation to some degree? Plus I think the "naked" engine look is kind of cool. So anything to worry about when leaving it off?

Thanks,

No problem at all leaving it off. It's main job is sound suppression...not looks.

If you get water that high there's bigger problems.

The coils are on the heads and the cover doesn't go that far
