LOL, HellCaravan...I still think Stellantis sound like an ED drug...
I can already hear the commercials-
" Wife not happy? Can't get it up? Try Stellantis!
Our new 705 HP HellCaravan will put some starch in your shorts!"

Funny story about something like that. My aunt used to have an old beat up tan Caprice Wagon back in the early-mid 80s. It was the biggest hunk of junk iron you can imagine. Dented, paint chipping, seats ripped, etc. But, when the engine blew in it, she had a built 350 put in, and that thing was a monster. It had a really lopey cam in it, and it launched hard. We were at a red light (I was in the single digits in age) and some ******* looking guy pulled up in a vette next to us. My aunt decided it would be funny to race the guy, so she looked over and started revving at him. The light turned green and he took off, so she punched it and the look on his face as this old trashbag station wagon passed him was quite amusing.Yeah, I don’t know how or where they came up with that name. Lol.
But I say screw it, why not??? The Dodge magnum was still the baddest station wagon on the planet far as I’m concerned so why not have the baddest minivan on the planet that’ll do 0-60 4 seconds flat? Imagine that soccer mom. That’s one minivan that won’t get picked on. All the school kids be like, yo mama drives a minivan- kid says yeah, but my mom’s has a Hemi! And it’s supercharged!! Smoked a Mustang GT by two lengths on the way to school this morning!!!

The problem with the reverse opening doors is when you are in a parking lot with a vehicle next to you. It can be incredibly tricky to open the rear door.

My experience with the extended cab doors was with a 2000 F150 and a 2011 F150. On both of them, you had to open the front door to a certain point to have enough room to open the back doors at all. In a tight spot, the front doors would not open far enough to allow the rear doors to open more than a couple of inches. Perhaps we have a different definition of a tight spot, or perhaps your experience was with a different vehicle. I just know, based on my experience, I could not stand them from a practicality standpoint. Though it was leaps and bounds better than the 86 F150 ext cab I had that you had to fold the passenger seat forward and climb in, being that they didnt have any doors in the back.I found it to be quite the opposite. Much easier to work with space with the truck when in a pinch in a parking lot. Not tricky, but very helpful.
Although I’m not for electric vehicles, if I had to choose, I’d rather see an electric Dakota more than I would an electric full-size ram.I'm guessing an electric Dakota in the next two years. Market-wise it makes sense.
All gas vehicles’ futures are in jeopardy now.
Just a plan to incorporate a French auto manufacturer responsible for Peugeot and Citroën. What hurts is the name Chrysler is disappearing.
Daimler ***** her, (siphoned money from Chrysler to prop up their failing Mercedes brand) then cut her throat (when Chrysler was tapped out put it up for sale) leaving her for dead. Chery of China was a prospective buyer. Can you imagine Chrysler owned by the Chinese.
"You buy A #1 good Chery Chrysler now!"
But an investment group Cerberus purchased Chrysler with the intent of liquidating the rest of its assets.
But there was so much public backlash from the prospective killing of one of he big 3 they ended up selling it as a whole to Fiat.
So then let me ask you something; if Ford did all that you said they did, which yeah, they actually did say that, that they thought that something like this might be coming up so they did what they called as “trimming the fat” then claimed that they didn’t need government help but now onto that something I was going to ask you; if Ford really didn’t need financial help then how come almost 2 years later, why did they “borrow” $6 billion from the government if they say they didn’t need help? You do realize that those two bailouts they gave Chrysler and GM weren’t handouts, they were still loans that had to be paid back. Now why GM only paid back all but 10 million of what they borrowed but at least Chrysler paid all of theirs off and the US treasury actually made a two-billion dollar profit from interest on the money they loaned Chrysler.
Around 2010 is when Ford “borrowed” their money, and they’re not even projected to have that paid off until next year. I’m so sick of hearing people say that Ford didn’t take money from the government because, they did. Sure, they may have said it was for retooling plants, or for research and development on greener electric vehicles but the fact still remains, they took money from the government just the same as GM and Chrysler did, plain and simple.
I don’t really know what GM did to put themselves in such a bind but if anybody knows anything about Chrysler or their past hardships, in my opinion, it’s really no question why Chrysler needed bailed out just because of the plain and simple fact of how after Daimler got done running what was left of Chrysler’s reputation into the ground and then selling them to some private equity firm just made matters so much worse.
I don’t particularly care for the fact that Chrysler is owned by an Italian company but at least one thing I can say, is at least for the most part, fiat leaves them alone lets them do their thing and at least now, maybe Chrysler can focus a lot more on quality instead of quantity now that they really don’t have to work as hard to keep their own heads above water.

I knew a fella that blueprinted a Gremlin motor. Do you know how little a Gremlin weighed!?
Years ago, my brother put a 302 into a Pinto wagon he had. That thing would flat **** and git.
And if you needed more power just smack it in the back bumper, you'd hit mach 1 when the gas tank exploded.Years ago, my brother put a 302 into a Pinto wagon he had. That thing would flat **** and git.
Those old small blocks were great engines for those days. The big 3 each had one, the 318, chevy's 283 and fords 289 and 302.I bet it would. Even the 5.2L 318 that came in my old 96 Dakota would flat get up and go. Even in fourth gear that truck would run over a 100 mph. I was always to chicken**** to slam’er into 5th and keep punchin’ it. Lol.

Being older, i LOVE change that i LOVE or see a reason for the change, but my first response to change for the sake of change is usually negative.
Usually after taking a bit of time, i can accept that things cant stay the same.
BUT tradition and history have fallen to the wayside as global economy washes everything into a homogenized , monopoly that is driven ONLY by bottom lines and short term gains
I work for an american company in health care ( specifically cancer care) that has just been bought by a HUGE european company that we beat out of the industry 25 years ago. After 30 years, I now have to face the reality that CHANGE is here. I know many have gone thru this as well . The only hope is the Parent company will see the value in $$ to keep things the same.
a long rant, i know, but hopefully it applies here as well and any "trimming of the fat" doesnt affect the good stuff
it is still a shame to have seen so many brands that I grew up with disappear, but is just IS
guess im now "that old guy on the porch ******** about kids on my lawn"
