Hi Guys,
Finally received my returned, undamaged Nfab side steps this week. Took some time as this model was on back order. I installed it yesterday afternoon and thought it was a straight bolt on. Directions ask for a 1/2'' hole to be drilled by the center mounting bracket. Has any of you complied with this step or have you decided not to do it. It also says to drill in a self tapper for additional support. It is pretty tight to get a drill in top of the center bracket to drill the 1/2'' hole. I'm a little skeptical to drill into the under body. Rust loves newly drilled holes in metal.

Any suggestions to this install. Maybe try and get a drill up there and maybe use some silicone or something. What are your thoughts.

Thanks.

On my set it said a hole was needed for the front screw of the rear most bracket (QC). it was actually the rear hole for the rear bracket. I have the 2-step so I didn't bother with the hole, same rust concerns. I did have a slight rattle at speeds above 65 so I went thru and tightened the bolts again and it's been fine.

chrgdrt,
Your chrome steps looks great. I think I am going to leave mine as it is and see if it remains solid. If there is any rattle or flex I will reconsider drilling the centre hole.
Thanks for responding to my post.
Cheers!!
