I was able to get ahold of Moes-Performance 4 minutes before they were about to close.

Went ahead and ordered:

Vararam Air Grabber with Moes 87mm Throttle Body.
And Magnaflow 5x8 Single 3" In/Dual 2.5" Out 14" Stainless Muffler

Hopefully these were good choices for my first mods. Can't wait to install them.

Special thanks to Moes for their awesome service, call was made 4 minutes before closing and they stayed on to finish my order and answer my questions on the Diablo. Not to mention they were able to get my Vararam and Throttle Body out to me, muffler will be sent out tomorrow! Thanks Moes!

Congrats. From what I hear, you should be happy with that buy.

I think it would have been beneficial to add 1 3/4 ARH longtubes, I mean, afterall you cam save on shipping with those other parts! ;)

Thanks guys I'm pretty excited. Vararam should be at the front door sometime today but looks like the 87mm TB shipped seperately so have to wait til tomorrow for that.

I'll look into those long tubes. I'm looking ahead for next months purchase. The truck is sitting on a 6" Pro Comp Lift with 295/65R20 Trail Grapplers.

Question is: in an effort to get a little more pep in her step and maybe catch a little more MPG (avg. 9.7mpg now) should I look toward the Diablo (hemi fever tune) or regear as my next move?

I would say regear. Especially with the lift and heavy tires.

Intake and TB will be there today, and muffler will be there tomorrow ;).

I would go with the tuner next. Re-gearing is just too expensive on the 2012-up 4wd trucks, so bang for buck, you are going to gain a lot more from the custom tune.

What's the price like for a 2013 4x4 re-gear?

Need a new front carrier. You can do a 2010 swap, or try to do a 2500 axle swap. Either way, 2-3k at least.
Rear end will have to be machined to accept larger than 3.92 gears.
They made it a pia all around.

Upwards of $3000.

Nobody makes an aftermarket gear for the 2011-up rear carrier, so you would have to run the very expensive factory 4.10's or have your rear carrier machined to accept an aftermarket gear. Factory 4.10's are $700 plus $96 for install kit...or the machining to run aftermarket gears is about $250-$300, plus $205 for aftermarket gears, plus $96
for new install kit. If you have it machined, then you can run up to a 4.56.

Then on the front your current ring gear is welded to the carrier. Only way to replace this is to swap out the entire front axle with 1 from an 09-11. Then you would also need a new front driveshaft from an 09-11 as well as the aftermarket front gears and install kit.

Then after you have spent upwards of $2000-$2500 for the parts, you have to pay a shop anywhere from $600-$1000 for labor to install on both axles.

Dodge made this a very difficult and expensive swap for the 2012-up 4wd guys.

So since my truck came with 3.21's there's no way I can go to 3.55's or 3.92's unless I go through all that trouble?

You can make the swap, but you would have to go with factory gears in the rear which run about $350-$400...that part isn't too bad. Up front, you will still need to replace the full front axle because last I checked, Mopar would not sell the differential/gear assembly separate. Your ring gear is welded to the carrier, so that entire assembly would need to be replaced. It would be less for you to stick with a 3.55 or 3.92, but still an expensive swap in the end.

Well reading all those high numbers makes my next decision easy Diablo (hemifever tune) it will be. From everyone's comments I don't think I'll be disappointed.

My Vararam and throttle body made it in today, less than 24 hours from when the order was placed. Wish I wasn't working til 2am but I'll be out there installing them 1st thing in the morning.

Thanks again Moes!

yeah the high costs of gears is what made me decide to buy my torque converter. And the HF tune. Horsepower is cheaper to get than the gears so I went that route ultimately. I may one day get a used diff and do a swap to 3.92s but I just dunno. There are still a few things I can add like long tubes, e-fan, etc., to help on the power end.
