Lots of firsts for me here. 1st time pickup owner, 1st time American car owner & 1st time V8 owner. Here's my story....

After driving Japanese and German cars for the last 20 years, I finally decided it was time for a real truck to haul around the toys (Yamaha sx230 powerboat and Can Am Renegade 1000 xxc ATV)..

Looked at the F150 and the RAM 1500.. But it only took 5 minutes in the ram to fall in love with it.

Ended up with a 2014 RAM 1500 sport fully loaded (with everything except the air suspension).

I love the way the truck feels and drives. I feel like I'm sitting over the other cars. Wow. What a feeling. Interior finish is world class. And the HEMI.. Well what can I say that you guys don't already know. Puts a grin on my face very time I press down the throttle.

Here's the truck right before leaving the dealer's lot

And here's the truck on its maiden voyage

I hope to still be as happy with this truck years from now as I am today.

Looking forward to learning from all of you guys and happy to be here.

Welcome! Looks great, and sounds like just the vehicle you need to get your family and toys around safely in comfort.

We picked up a new '07 Dodge 1500 QC 4x4 5.7 Sport, and it just logged over 100k miles and is still purring right along. A few sets of tires, two sets of brake pads and regular oil changes and air filters. Bone stock and it's as strong as the day it rolled off the lot 6.5 Yrs ago. Engine and LSD rear end are tight, trans fluid looks new and not a single fluid seeping or dripping anywhere.

Welcome aboard, bro!

Hey.. I know you... Didn't know you were a ram guy...

Now we should start a cigar smoking thread here. Let's see who enjoys a fine Cuban from time to time ;)

I guess it pays off to use the same alias on all boards. You never know who you'll meet. ..

What do you drive ?

Welcome and congrats on that beautiful new truck.

I just hope you don't have the problems I did when I purchased four (4) 1500's last year. Yes, four of them! And I loved every inch of them. However, starting with the first one and ending up with the 4th one, I had problems with the engines stalling at any given speed above 35 mph. There was no warning it was going to happen. City, highway or Interstates ~ stall!! Service mgr and mechanics AND Chrysler said it was not happening until I took the ser. mgr for a ride. I Lemon Lawed the first one and the dealer bought back the other three. I ended up with a 2012 Diesel which I just traded for a 3500 Diesel.

Problem with the 1500's I had, which "I" found by hours of internet searching was totally weird. Problem was called (TBS) ~ Throttle Body System. When the engines on Toyoto's were running away on people, Dodge decided to put a safety feature in the 1500's. Why just them? Don't have a clue.

This is what caused all four of my trucks engines to stall on me. IF I just barely touched the brake pedal with my left foot, that was enough to create the stall. I should say that this didn't happen every time I touched the brake but often enough to come darn close to getting rear ended.

What is scary is the fact that the dealer, after he took back the four trucks, cleaned them up and put them back on the lot for sale. Mechanics told me that they never ever worked on anything to solve the problem.

The guy who bought the last of the four trucks has had it in the service department more times than he can remember for the same problem.

So if this happens to you, shoot me an email if nobody wants to listen to you.

That's crazy. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but in the first 1000km, I've had no issues whatsoever.

I've tried the cigar interest thread a couple times with absolutely no luck. Plus, 90+% of the members are US...so they can't even talk about the good cigars.

Ours is a 2012 Crew cab Sport with 27,000 trouble free Kms over a year and a half. It pulls our 32' trailer all summer, with a few family trips now and again.
