i've been thinking about this too. If the 3 mods get an extra 1.5mpg then it will take a little over 3 years to pay for itself at today's gas price if my math is correct (50/50 usually :))

my mpg would go from 16 to 17.5. It would net me an extra 37.5 miles a tank or save 2.14 gallons every tank. I fill up once a week typically. 2.14gallons x 4 weeks = 8.56gallons/month; 8.56 x 36 months = 308.16 gallons (x $3.22 (todays gas price)) = $992

does anyone know how much extra mpg the tuner (when available) will give with these other mods already in place?

another thing to remember is that gas prices are always up & down and who knows how they will be weeks, months, years from now....just my thought

My first question is why do you buy a 5500 lb truck with a 400hp V-8 and want MPG:hidesbehindsofa:

To haul my dirtbikes.... Is there anything wrong with wanting to have your cake and eat it too? The three rail trailer looked a bit funny behind the Charger, and there wasnt ever much room for others to come with me to races and such. Bad thing was it got 19 + MPG average, now my truck is in the 15s, so just trying to save a bit on gas to go towards other fun purchases.

Thanks a ton to all for their input here. Will be adding parts shortly. And of course, pics to follow.

I have a similar reason, I bought the truck for the utility. I just put on an S&B intake and a BT catch can Tuesday night. Just made a routine trip for me, last time I did it pre-mods I was at 16.6mpg. Last night after the mods I was at 18.7mpg. Not too shabby, and as they point out I also have more power. I look at it from the other direction, the added power is the side benefit for me. However, I have to admit, I can see myself getting the mod bug and changing my tune.
