I’ve been noticing fluid leaking from my left rear wheel hub and I thought it was from the brake caliper at first and after taking all apart, I see that the caliper piston looks ok and the leak may be diff fluid.
Can diff fluid actually come out from that area and what would need to be fixed or replaced??

You need new seals and while your in there replace bearings also, they’re cheap. You will need a slide puller for the bearings that you can rent from most automotive stores.

Yep, there’s a bit of play when I wiggle hub around. And I just check my diff fluid level, it is low despite the fact I just changed the fluid two months ago and no leak around diff cover.
So bearings and seals it is.
Thanks for your response

Will I need an inner and an outer bearing and a race?
Also how do I tell if mine is a 9.25” or 10.5”

Do you have a half ton or 3/4? You would just need the outer bearings n seals. If you have the 1500 then it’s a 9.25, if you have 2500, it’s the 10.5.
