Power folding mirrors; Left side was sometimes continuing to try to close. The motor would keep running causing the mirror to snap back after binding against the stop. It often went through 3 cycles before it stopped. Then wouldn’t extend back out.
Still under warranty, I took it into the dealership this morning. when the service mgr walked up (one my wife & I always ask for and have a good relationship with) I pointed to the mirror and said I was having a problem. He stopped me, said it goes “pop pop pop when closing?”
Me: yes.
Him: I know what it is. I’ve replaced hundreds of them. Is the right side doing it too?
Me: no.
Him: I’ll tell them it is b/c it will, it’s just a matter of time. They’ve updated the mechanism in these mirrors. I’ll have them both replaced today.
And, this is not even the dealership I bought the truck from.
I’ve read countless comments about bad service. I’ve stated it’s all about the right service mgr. I’ve found a good one.
