Hey guys so I just blew my 2 Alpine type R 12D2 subs trying to do something stupid... Anyway, looking to see what's out there now that fits and compliments the CC Fox box the best. If it's still the Type RS, what model are the newest ones that fit?

Thank you much

What did you do to blow em?

I would highly recommend the sundown SA 12s, I have them and they are amazing. What foxbox do you have?

Here is mine.

While trying to retune by myself I didn't notice that the test tone I was using finished and kept on playing different ones.. anyway, I clipped them to death to make a long story short. I'm not an audiophile by any means, I just want the hardest hitting subs I can get that fit in that fox fox. I'm pretty sure mine us the exact same box you got

Sa-12s are a solid budget SPL option, how much power are you working with and what are the box volume/port dimensions?

You’re depth limited as well as motor diameter constrained when you start looking at competition drivers.

I'm pretty sure my amp can push anything that would fit in there.. taramps HD 3000.. not that it's a great amp but it's more than enough for anything that could fit in there

Do they honestly hit harder than the Alpine type Rs? The newest ones are 750wrms

Unfortunately I cannot speak to how they sound in this box, as I don't or never had any of them. However my cousin has a custom box with two 12 type R's in his pickup and my blow his away

I meant to say I don't know what the alpines would sound like in that, I can only attest to how great the sundown sa 12 sound in it

I would look really hard at these guys. They are some of the most highly regarded subs that are not big box name. And they are handmade in the usa. There's price budgets of all kinds. The Sundowns sa-12's are good from what everyone says, but don't disregard these guys. The fi audio q's are highly regarded as a great sql sub as well.

If you want loud and affordable, you're on the right track...id choose type R's or SA12's....not the best with sound quality tho...but it sounds like you simply want loud

My two type Rs we're awesome but I'm not an audiophile by any means. I just scored 2 brand new type Rs 12" latest gen @2ohm for $320 shipped! Can't wait .. 750wrms a piece...I'ma be setting off some alarms for sure. The previous gen claimed 1000wrms but they were actually 500wrms

AudioFrog GB12s or JL 12W6 would be an SQ upgrade at a cost, but the latest revision Type R’s are a solid budget option.

Motor diameter interference? Both have less top mount depth.

Scotts a good dude. Smaller operation. He's the original founder of RE back in the day.
(back when it was good IMHO)
