Front axle compatibility??

Hi guys,

I bought a 2009 2500 Ram 4x4, it has a wrecked front differential that reads 40013707F PG2 on the top of it.
Im currently about to buy a replacement that comes from a 2008 2500 4x4, but the differential reads PG3 on it, and not PG2. are they compatible?

They look exactly the same outside, but I'm a first timer on 4x4 parts at all, and need some guidance before I buy this axle, or even worst before I break or install wrong parts.

Figure out what axle ratio you have and then figure out the new one. As long as they are the same it is a direct swap. Try doing a Google search for those part numbers and see what comes up.
