I've had my 8.4 radio in my truck for a few months now with plans to install a front camera. I just got some time this week to install the RCA pigtail. A month or so ago I used AlphaOBD to turn on the cargo camera and trailer camera and since i've had a button for turning on the backup camera anytime I want and it has been working. I also have the cargo camera button to toggle to the other camera but of course all all I got was a blue screen. Now that I have hooked up the camera I'm still getting the blue screen.

Here's what I've done:

CHMSL camera: Set
Trailer Hitch Camera: Set
LED CHMSL Lamp Present: Set

Verified the camera works by plugging into a TV input

Pinned the pigtail to pins 24 and 25

Checked continuity of pigtail wires and verified that the one marked 24 goes to the tip and 25 goes to the sleeve of the connector.

Should I have pinned the connector and powered up the camera before I enabled the settings in AlphaOBD or would that make any difference?

Or have I missed a critical step.

One other caeat, even though this radio supposedly came out of a 2020 Classic is has an odd part number. It appears to be a UAQ and behaves as one but the part number is 68461699AB.

Any help or suggestions appreaciated.

Edit: I just realized the picture of the connector was taken before I seated the pins I think, they are seated all the way in.

They don't look like they are seated. Make sure they are the right pin locations and then triple check it. I and others have had them in the wrong mirrored position.

Did you take the red terminal locking plate out/pop out out so that you could install the pins fully into the connector/luck them in? And then reinstall it start the one we're inserted?

Info/example (for BuCam kit at 31,32,33 ) ...dc39b18d8c1a631c937862951d7d889a.jpg

Yes, after I posted the question I noticed the picture of the connector was before I seated the pins, see the edit on the last line. After I took that picture I pulled them back out so as to put them on the other side of the latch and zip tie the pigtail to the connector with the factory harness. I did pull out the red plate on the other side of the connector and snap the pins all the way in.

Can you get a dead on picture of the wires going into the back of the connector?

Also... Since it's displaying a blue screen, I would expect it is programmed correctly with AlfaOBD and it just needs a video signal on the correct input pins.

(Not sure if that PN radio accepts CargoCam input on pins 24,25 like earlier radios... Or Maybe it's 21, 22 ... Or perhaps it only accepts input from a CVM Camera Vision Module)

Pretty sure when i looked at the wires on my 2019 classic, it's 21 & 22 for the camera . I'm at work right now, I'll try to remember to check my notes in the morning, age reply back.

That would be great if you could confirm that, I've left everything just hanging for now. Thanks

When you're saying old vs new are you referring to the Harmon vs Panasonic radios?9488aff3b64a59b843a0212a33e7356a.jpg

The blue screen indicates there's no signal from the camera. I'd be willing to bet the pins are the problem but which ones are the questions. Add a bit of dielectric grease to the pins and reassemble and I'll be you see a difference.

Does anybody have access to wiring diagrams for a 2020 classic to check the pin locatins for the cargo camera?

On a classic, it's still pins 24, 25....

IMO, it's either there's an issue with that radio's input board, that non ram PN radio doesn't support the video input on pins 24,25 or you don't actually have the pins installed correctly in the connector.

Its definitely not the pigtail itself (not that it was implied... You did check with a meter also) ...
- Monster brand all metal RCA connector, FCA spec'd wires soldered at both ends (& crimped terminals).

You mean 24 and 25, that's what's labeled on the wires, if it's 23 and 24 that's a whole new ballgame.

Yep typo. Sorry for that. The original email/info that was sent is correct.
