This will be my second time replacing shocks and struts on the front of my truck. i have a 2 inch level and 40,000 miles so i dont know what the issue is. Im wondering if my stock replacement shocks are too short? or if theres an aftermarket shock that would be safe to put on and would be capable of lasting longer than 20,000 miles.

4x4? If replacing struts I'd just put on bilsteins to level and replace. Some things def wrong. Is it aligning good?

Yes. Remove your spacer and use the shocks to level. Don't do them together.

Your spacers are on top of the strut. Its not adding any length to the stroke of your shocks. Are you the one saying you need new shocks/struts or is it a shop? I'd get a second opinion.

What happens if you have the spacers and shocks? I'm looking to do this but don't want any expensive issues. I've seen combo kits for sale but if just shocks are better, then why?

Don't mean to hijack the thread.

You do not want to run a spacer on top of an adjustable shock set up. Its one or the other. Attempting it would cause some expensive issues. The kits you have seen most likely have a rear spacer and a slightly longer shock for the rear and reuse the factory front strut just putting a spacer on top of the assembly.

^^^ This. You can run any shocks you want with the spacer as long as they are not adjustable.

Rears are not adjustable. Those you have to use a spacer to lift. Post some pics when you're done.
