Greetings once again, please see the below link and let me know if anyone has bought and installed this on their 5th Gen Rams:
https://www.genosgarage.com/product/ram-1500-locking-fuel-dust-cap/new-products

From what I read on my neighborhood FB posts, appears that a fuel thief is going around stealing gas. I have not noticed on the Ram but really not a fan of no ability to lock my fuel filler.

Thanks

I've been looking for something like this. I'm not sure it's even possible to siphon gas from the filler on these trucks. I"m more concerned about being able to keep anyone else from having direct access to my fuel filler. For any reason. I don't have one of these yet, but I'm ordering one today. Thanks for the link!

They sell a similar cap for the Ecodiesel...purchased one back when I had my 2nd Gen Ecodiesel...cap was flawless, Ecodiesel was not. Highly recommend Genos! Not so crazy about the 2nd Gen Ecodiese.

Welcome for the link, I may purchase but am worried about possible parts from the lock system falling into the tank, might not be an issue but still concerned.

Went ahead and purchased the Geno's set up, arrived today, still trying to figure out the proper install. Seems like a nice product, well made.

Edit: Got the locking cap to install correctly, again, nice product.

Purchased one as well it hasn't arrived yet, My big concern is someone putting something into my tank that would really screw the fuel pump and injectors, I just don't trust my neighbors where I live.

Y'all need to move if you can't trust your neighbors. That's paranoia.....

Or, you're not too neighborly to make people want to vandalize your property....

Well got mine and installed per the instructions, that rubber dust boot that surrounding the filler heck interferes with sliding it into place, used some Vasoline jelly to lube the boot and it helped, I'm not trimming that boot, Its fitted nicely and has a drain on it, you have to install it from the bottom and slide it up, I tried to put it from the top but the aluminum flap was out of place, It would of been nice for the MFG to tell you this, it got me thinking does the Diesel not have this rubber boot? Looks like good quality, Jus Cruisin I live in a neighborhood with allot of teens and they have vandled a few vehicles in my area, Cops say they are bored, Nice.

It's not the neighbors I don't trust. It's the bored teenagers who might decide to "play" in my neighborhood some night who are usually the problem. The last time it happened, someone had a bb gun and decided it would be fun to shoot cars and houses. They hit several neighborhoods, so you can never know when something might happen in any neighborhood. Better to be prepared than to run scared (move) every time something happens. Besides, how many people can just up and move every time there is a problem?

I sleep just fine with Mr. Glock and Mr. Ruger next to my bed :sleepy10:
Not saying I'd actually shoot someone I caught messing with my property...not saying I wouldn't. :angels25:

Let us know how you make out, you'll see about that rubber boot make sure you put some Vasoline on it so you get the red lock cup on.

I purchased one for my truck and it fits like a glove. I've purchased from Geno's in the past and they always stand behind their products. This locking gas cap cover is a very simple design yet keeps the teens from pulling a stunt that can cost you in the long run. And yes, I live in an upscale neighborhood outside of Houston but that doesn't mean we don't have our share of ******* stunts by teens who have nothing better to do than play video games and sit on Mama's couch.
