Fuel Tank

In have a 2007 Ram 1500 Single cab with 8' bed. It has a 35 gallon tank that has developed a leak and needs to be replaced. It is a discontinued part and salvage yards don't seem to have one.
Can I use a 26 gallon tank from the same year? I have seen where 26 gallon tanks have been replaced with 35 gallon tanks with no problems, just need to know if that can be done the other way.

Tank and Barrel gas tanks, Titan dad tanks ? You could also check forum vender, Al mopar parts . He might be able to direct you to a replacement.
