I have a 2015 1500 crew cab outdoorsman and i recently began upgrading the sound system. I decided to stay with the factory head unit. I ran the remote wire to my fuse box under the hood using a fuse tap with 20amp fuses. My amplifier turns on when the doors open witch makes my subs kinda go nuts until i turn the key. Am i tapping the wrong fuse? And which one is the right fuse?

You want to tap something that is ACC power. The cigarette lighter plug is ACC (turns on with the key).

You typically don't want to just "turn on and amp" with acc power. You want the trigger wire to be controlled by volume output of the radio, that way the amp is not on when the radio is not on. If your amp and radio combination does not support this then you want an acc fuse, not the lighter, that triggers when the doors are opened or some models when an unlock happens.

If i recall correctly, on some year Rams
The fuse for the cigarette lighter, is a 3 pin socket or whatever its called
The fuse itself is 2 pin
in one position the cigarette lighter is Always Hot
move the fuse over to the other pin & it becomes hot with the ignition

Like the 2014 Ram fuse diagram, check fuse 90/91 as an example
