FYI: New Uconnect Update for 8.4A(N) Systems - 14.25.05

An update was released for the UConnect system last week. It fixes some GPS issues and the annoying jumpy reverse cam. I have installed it on my Ram and Jeep and the camera issues are gone!

I can confirm you need to watch where you download the file to. Not thinking I downloaded it to the flash drive I was going to update it with and then extracted it to the same drive. Long story short it erases your software but then doesn't install anything to replace it. So you don't have a radio until you do it correctly.

Anyone have somewhere I could upload the files? I have the unzipped files for RA3 and RA4. Just dump on a flash drive and go.

Did this do anything other than fix the camera issues and GPS? What exactly did it change with GPS?

I had trouble downloading the update on multiple browsers (the installer had previously installed fine). If anyone else has the same problem, the fix for me in Google Chrome was to click the shield in the address bar and selecting to allow unsafe script. Download started up right away.

Thanks for sharing these links. I just updated without problems. I already saw the ECO symbol on my dash so can't answer that. There is a setting for displaying "Fuel Saver" information in the cluster. Do you have that enabled?

These updates have always worked fine on Macs. The trick is to ignore the instructions they give you. All you have to do is have a flash drive formatted as MO-DOS. When you download the file, unzip it, and drag the .iso file over to the drive. Now just take that out and do the update.

Mac User extract ios

To extract the iso file from the download exe, I used KEKA from the Apple Store. 1. KEKA extracted the ios file without a problem. 2. Dragged the ios file onto a DOS formatted thumbdrive. 3. Plugged the thumbdrive into the truck’s usb jack and the EVIC took it from there.

I just updated mine to the latest version last night. Haven't noticed any differences/improvements....but I have noticed that I have lost quite a few XM channel pictures. They reverted back to a generic SXM logo. Anyone else have this issue?

Hmm strange. I had mine in at the dealer a couple weeks ago for some winter prep maintenance, and they updated all my software as well. I think I had to re-program all my SXM presets, but that was the only problem I had.

Ok I loaded it to my flash drive after it downloaded on my mac. It says it is a windows based program. I am nervous that I will screw it up and wind up loosing the radio. How can I be sure that it was downloaded fine to my mac? This is what it says it is, RA4_14_25_5.exe does this look right? Also how do I make sure I install it right? Any step by step instructions here?

I could never get any of the updates to work on the Mac, so I had to use PC to download the update.
