Just picked up a new to me 17 Ram crew cab Limited. Love the truck but everytime I put gas the nozzle gets stuck, I mean really stuck. Like two dogs stuck if you know what I mean. I've seen some threads on google but never saw a real fix. Dealer claims they never heard of this. I spent the first time 20 minutes getting that thing loose. Is this a California pump thing? I am thinking that lip inside the filler neck is grabbing the nozzle and thought about grinding it down. I really don't want to deal with that if there is a better solution.

I have this problem occasionally, yes it’s a California environmentally friendly BS nozzle. I fill up at Chevron and I hardly ever have a problem. Although it is hard to angle the nozzle in to where you don’t rub it on the paint. Maybe If enough people complained they’d have a TSB for it.

Put your hand on the nozzle handle, put very little pressure toward the truck and up, and "unscrew" the nozzle with about a 1/16 turn. The nozzles come right out.

I'm getting better at it but if my wife ever puts gas, my truck will come home with the nozzle ripped off the pump.

Remember--it's a gas nozzle and a filler neck---it's not your wife or girlfriend, you don't have to jam it all the way in or till it gets stuck.

There is a revised filler pipe, 68448220AA. I ordered one and it should arrive tomorrow. I am installing it myself, going to the dealer is too much stress.

The problem is the gas nozzle that has the black boot that seals to the filler neck.
I’ve never had a problem putting gas in my truck. We don’t have those black boots at our statins here either. I think those boots are for fume collection???

What's the differences from the old part? Does it change the angle? I haven't had mine get stuck, but I did notice the boot is causing scuff marks in the paint cause it is at such a sharp angle.
