Try doing the math by hand! You will find on average that the truck reading is off about 1/2 mpg. At least on my truck ! I have read other's say about the same reading being off . BUT even 15,7 mpg on a Hemi I would be happy :)

My dash lies to me too.
Yes trucks lie. But to take a full size truck and get 18 miles per gallon on long cruises is pretty nice.

even at 1/2 mile per gallon I was still getting 19 mpg.

Actually I do the math on every tank. Straight cruising with no load is about 1/2 mpg off. Towing heavy it is off about 3/4 mpg. don't know why the difference but that how this truck is. I actually get better mileage with the 4.56 gears than i did with 3.73's as long as i stay under 75 mph.

Great mileage OP!

You know what would be awesome since you are close to Colorado? If you got together with the guys over at TFL Truck and ran the Ike with your 4.56 geared truck. I bet it would make a huge difference in how it performs versus the trucks they have tested. Heck, you can probably have the episode sponsored by the company that makes the 4.56 gears since they would probably get a ton of orders afterwards. Just one of my crazy ideas.....

Yup, I remember those days... I actually got my overall average (hit reset on day one) to 23 a couple times. You have to really baby it and stay at 65 for a very long time, but it's possible.

Then I slapped on new rims and tires.... I'm lucky to see 17 now, lol.

I average 19+ mpg on my Hemi ram 4x4 week in week out. My overall average since I purchased it 14 months ago is 17.8 hand calc.

Check out Fuelly every time at the pump check write down your odometer mileage and pop it into Fuelly and now you have a record of every fill up as well as accurate mileage for that tank.

Only on my second fill up, just passed 1K miles! The EVIC was a little over one MPG off compared to actual. Pretty good compared to the Hyundai Santa Fe I was driving, it was commonly off more than 20%. Now I just need to see how comfortable I am driving on E, this last fill up the range was at 19 miles and could get only 27.7 gallons into her.

Oh I can feel that pain. Went out a couple of weeks ago with the 5th wheel and it didn't matter which way the road turned i was bucking a head wind. Made for a long drive. It was worth it though once we got to where we were going.

Nice, i had a similar experience with my 17 6.4\3.73. On the highway running unloaded, i was up over 19mpg average. I thought that was pretty good for a 3\4 ton, cc, 4x4 truck.

Thats what I'm talking about. My last gas engine truck got 11 empty 8 towing no matter what. So having a 3/4 ton trick getting this kind of mileage is really nice.
