I have seen several people here looking for a way around AutoPark. Yesterday, I needed to get my '17 Bighorn up on ramps. Just for the heck of it I I figure it's good to exercise the parts from time to time), I put it into 4WD LOW. When it switched, the dash lit up with a message that said 'AutoPark Disablesd'. Sounds like an easy solution, and the way it crawls in low, it would be nice an easy to move around for short differences.

BTW, I put it in drive, took my foot off the brake, it walked right up the ramps without touching the gas at all. Lots of torque in LOW for sure.

i know in my 300S if you keep one foot on the brake and have the door open you can drive the vehicle . haven't tried it in the 19 ram classic yet

I think i read somewhere (maybe here in this forum), that if you latch your seatbelt behind you, this will disable the autopark function (?)

^^^This works, I have done it many times when I am jackknifing my travel trailer into its spot next to the garage at home.

You can also buy a seatbelt extender (get a quality one) and leave it in all the time.

Had a bad experience with Auto park in the automatic car wash yesterday.
The attendant opened my door and I handed him the wash ticket.

The chain was trying to pull me through, and here it had magically gone into park.
I had unbuckled the seat belt, would it help to have it on ?

Darn autopark, he knew what happened said its only the newer Ram and Ford products.

Will Ram disable the function, if I go back to the dealer ?

I've only had this truck for 3 months, I really like it so far, but this, and the front
and rear assist stop thing is a PITA.

Yup plug the seatbelt in,or get a seat belt extender and you can move it with the door open.I put a seatbelt extender on my wifes Challenger so I can roll it down the driveway with the cover on it and the door open.

I've got the seat belt extenders in my RAM, me wifes Jeep and now in my side by side.
In my RAM beacause of the auto park and then decided that I liked how much easier it was to fasten and unfasten the seat belt.
In the side by side it changes the angle enough to make it much more comfortable.
I use my seat belt most of the time getting thru field gates and off road use on the farm I don't,
for one its a royal pain when you are in and out numerous times,
also I may be quite dirty or greasy at times and I don't want that on my seat belts.

Good to know the seat belt extender work around. I've got about 3 open recalls on my '14 that I've been putting off because I don't want the damn AutoPark. Where are people getting the seat belt extenders?

I have been getting mine from here;
https://www.seatbeltextenderpros.com/
They are not the cheapest but they seem to work well so far.
I have the short ones and the 5 and 7 inch ridged, I like the 5" in my ram it brings the latch up above my hip and makes it easier to latch.
But every one is going to find a different fit that works for them.
All of mine are the rigid ones, I have no use for the ones which use a belt webbing for the length.
