will a 5.9l v8 out of a 2000 durango work in my 1997 dodge ram 2500? im looking for a spare motor so i can rebuild one motor then just swap it in. i dont know if i need to find a 5.9l v8 out of another 2500 of the same year or can i use a durango or 1500's motor.

You can use a 5.9 magnum from a Jeep, Rango or a 1500 Ram. Best to use the 97 intake though as it has two spots for the temp senders (what you need).
