The seats just look great my girlfriend is a seamstress she does boats couches chairs dinette sets I was just going to have her do my seats in the charger and in the ram but I may go the way you went and then I don't have to worry about taking stuff out of two cars and all that.

Ok maybe you're a little confused as I read your question again. YES the original seat covers come off... since they do come off, you can't "slide them over originals". (???)

The seats will all have to removed from the vehicles in order to complete this. The originals come off (cloth) and then you reinstall leather onto cushions with hog rings. Google and you will find a bunch of videos on YouTube.

Your setup looks awesome.

Yeah, I was not confused, I realize the covers come off and the leather katzkins go over the cushion and that works for me. The GF usually does boat interiors that way IF the cushions can be saved.

I am still on the fence though, I dont know weather to have her use leather from her supplier in AZ and start from scratch or just do the katzkins which would have all the stitching I want already done and ready to go for her to install on the seats.

For the Ram I may just go in the direction you went and then for the Charger, have her pull the existing suede / leather on the SRT8s seats I want to install, install with new leather and some type of racing red stitching.

My clothe seats in the Ram pretty much smells like my dog even after I clean and shampoo it so, leather seats will help with that too.
