Hey yall
First post here! Just got an 84 d250 318 on propane prospector with what I believe is 73k og kms ( less than 50k miles) doing a bunch of work on it
The grille is screwed on it and I always like the later style grills, I believe they started in 91
I have an option to buy one of a guy and I'm just wondering how easy it is to install one, what other parts I need etc etc.... its a 92 grill if that helps

Thanks!

You need the radiator support, grille, headlight 'doors', marker lights, lower valance.

Rad support should preferably be a gas model too, or you have more work to do cutting out and re-mounting your radiator brackets. (not too hard - have done it.)

not 100% sure but since they moved the headlight higher, you might have to do a little cutting and welding.

Yup. Here's a '90 with a 93 grille and bumper. Headlights sit low. I think the signal lamp holes are low too. The valance (on the floor) won't fit; the empty gap isn't bad though.

thats a bit steep for some cutting / drilling templates. I may be a cheapskate but I'd just keep the $73 and just test fit the headlight hole and radius them based on the new position. then make some cardboard drill hole templates to mount the headlight buckets.

Sorry Peter but I'm gonna piggyback off your post and ask what is needed if anything if I was to swap out a 1984 RC with a 1989 grill?

I prefer the look of the late 4 port 80s grills over the multi ported early 80s grills. It's funny how we all have different tastes and preferences as the grill you admire the most Peter is the one I like the least.

Also a difference in headlight positions... but not as much as 92-93. The whole grille assembly is different. Valance is different too. You really want the whole lot off one one truck in the right year range.

I'm doing the full '90 swap on my '84.
