Hard start, throttle body

I have an 05 daytona with 5.7 hemi I've changed the plugs, wires, camshaft sensor, and rebuilt the coil packs. I am getting a recurring po300 code with a rough idle. As of last week I've also been having trouble with the throttle body light coming on while driving rpms would drop to 0 even though engine was running and also at 1 point I had no throttle response.

So you have a random misfire code but no specific cylinder has been identified.

Have you cleaned your throttle body and changed out the PCV valve?

Yes I've cleared the code and it comes back, I've cleaned the throttle body, but have not changed the PVC valve. I'm trying my best to not throw parts at it and I've seen alot of posts about this code so thought I'd try for direct answer.

Sounds like the code and condition in my 03 when the TB control module went down. But,,,my tech had 4 codes and 2 were TBCM.

Yes. Replaced the TB/CM with a VDO brand. I buy OEM. But on this part OEM replacement was over $500 and would take 2 days to get out of LA warehouse. Found that NAPA sells VDO brand. But, only as one unit. Cost new, $380. Reman $340. Like you, I do not throw parts a problem. But I was surprised at the quality of that VDO unit. Apparently my factory one at 235K was going down and I had not noticed the change in cold start. Minor miss. Prior to condition failure as you described. After replacing I noticed a significant difference in engine smoothness and pick up performance. Hope this is useful.

Makes good sense to me. Just "my experience" like to figure out for myself what the problem is and enjoy the fix. BUT,,,have learned, a competent tech with professional scanners is worth every $ I pay to nail down the cause and effect. Well above my pay grade and OBD scanner tool. Last issue with my 03, I paid for 1 1/2hrs diagnostic time $143 and $12 on parts. Bad relay and ground. Fixed in 1 day. I am sure you will figure it out.

Yeah I still plan on getting it scanned at dealership but also trying to get the truck back on the road

Update

Brought truck to dealership they are telling me it needs a tps/throttlebody and a cam sensor its $750 to fix those before they can go any further. My question is they are telling me they need to flash the computer after repairs can anyone verify this or can I replace those parts myself without flashing the comp?

If it is $750 parts and labor for TB and CS. In my book, that's a fair price. Flash the computer?? maybe. But I suspect that may be tech talk for after the parts are installed. They need to go in clear codes and reset the ECM. But for $750, they do it all and stand behind it. Done

Did they have to flash the computer when you replaced the throttle body

I want to be careful about "terms'' I know my tech had to clear all codes and "reset" the ECM. If some techs refer to that as flash the computer,,,,then ok.
