Just as the title says... i am looking to buy a Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover for my 2012 6.4ft Bed.
What covers do you guys own and recommend I buy?
What brand/model covers should I avoid?
Looking to buy one today, as I will be needing it for a long trip that I am leaving for in 14 days.
**PS: Ive owned a soft tri-fold cover a few years ago an I hate the soft covers, so i definitely will not be getting a soft cover again.

I have and LOVE my BakFlip MX4. It is weather tight with drain tubes, it folds up and exposes 95% of the bed if needed or just portions if you want. You can even put up to 400 pounds of gear (distributed) on top of it if you had to.
I Have rough country hard tri fold cover. Love it . Easy to remove also.
Bought it on American Trucks Website.
had tri fold on last truck. liked that it provided some security (although any determined thief can get into any of these with a crow bar or coat hanger), but hated that a) it folds up and blocks rear window (occasionally need to haul bigger things) and b) removing individual panels to fix that was awkward.
have a truxedo sentry ct on order (and in current world will likely receive it a few years after i die), mostly because it solves my folder gripes...but i'm sure i will find new things not to like about it. just tossing this out in case you haven't considered similar options. if you rarely/never haul bigger items, may not matter to you.

I have the GatorTrax MX Electric Retractable cover. So far I really like it. Only have had it for a few weeks now, but works great and easy to install. Also hardwired the leads to one of my aux switches on the dash (in case I lose the remote). Cover is all aluminum and supports 500lbs on top of it. Can be locked at any point it’s opened to and I can still utilize my 5th wheel hook ups once fully opened.

I’ve always buy a full hard cover.. this is my 2nd on on my 3rd truck.... was able to one switch to a new truck and had it repainted... paid about $1200-$1300 painted to match and installed... I added the boat type handles myself to assist with tie downs...good luck!

I know U R looking for a trifold, or maybe roll n lock or something. I am just posting this Full Fiber Glass Cover (Mopar) for comparison. All depends what U need, this works for me. Now of course, U not gonna sit ne thing on this cover ref weight. It is just pretty much watertight, but again, I's a BOIRD ne way, and just showing U ref a comparison.View attachment 246577 View attachment 246578 View attachment 246579 View attachment 246580

What I use as a drop in for bed, most of the bed rugs want U to put down velcro, some drill holes, this just drops in. New post, will show tailgate. They all want U to drill holes. I just put enuf down to protect tailgate and used double sided gorilla tape.

Love my Extang Tri-Fold 2.0. I've had a cover on every truck I've owned, this is the cover I've purchased more than once, that's how good it is.
Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tri-Folding Truck Bed Cover | Extang
Ihave a version of the back flip.kind of a hard plastic top and bottom tri fold. Been on since 2013. The bars where the catches are have come loose. They used smalled screws to attach them. Replaced with a couple machine screws through the top and silicone for water tight. That has been only problem with it.
Rough Country Hard Tri Fold. Low profile, very sturdy. Around $659.00 shipped from Amazon
