AirDesigns makes some quality products. I have their tailgate appliqué piece that goes across the tailgate and sort of connects with the taillights. I’ve been meaning to get it painted gloss black to match the other accents on my truck.

I have and LOVE my BakFlip MX4. It is weather tight with drain tubes, it folds up and exposes 95% of the bed if needed or just portions if you want. You can even put up to 400 pounds of gear (distributed) on top of it if you had to.

had tri fold on last truck. liked that it provided some security (although any determined thief can get into any of these with a crow bar or coat hanger), but hated that a) it folds up and blocks rear window (occasionally need to haul bigger things) and b) removing individual panels to fix that was awkward.

have a truxedo sentry ct on order (and in current world will likely receive it a few years after i die), mostly because it solves my folder gripes...but i'm sure i will find new things not to like about it. :) just tossing this out in case you haven't considered similar options. if you rarely/never haul bigger items, may not matter to you.

Just as the title says... i am looking to buy a Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover for my 2012 6.4ft Bed.

What covers do you guys own and recommend I buy?

What brand/model covers should I avoid?

Looking to buy one today, as I will be needing it for a long trip that I am leaving for in 14 days.

**PS: Ive owned a soft tri-fold cover a few years ago an I hate the soft covers, so i definitely will not be getting a soft cover again.

I have the GatorTrax MX Electric Retractable cover. So far I really like it. Only have had it for a few weeks now, but works great and easy to install. Also hardwired the leads to one of my aux switches on the dash (in case I lose the remote). Cover is all aluminum and supports 500lbs on top of it. Can be locked at any point it’s opened to and I can still utilize my 5th wheel hook ups once fully opened.

Glad to hear. I finally decided and bought the MX4 from Nick@GotExhaust

Thanks for the input. I was looking at the RC but didn’t find any in stock for the 6.4 right now.

Yea I am never really hauling anything that would take up more room then the bed with the front flipped up on the MX4 (which is what I bought). I think 3-4 times since I’ve owned it I’ve had stuff in there from the front to back of the bed. Ironically today was one of those days as I had to pack my bed with parts to get them installed lol. This picture was before I loaded the boxes for my lift kit and other parts too.

I have a BakFlip G2 and have no problems with it for over a year now. Easy to install in less than a hour. It was ranked #2 right behind the #1 ranked BakFlip MX4 in a group of 10 covers. I bought the G2 because it was less expensive. Small minimal leaking (they all leak) only when I have it washed with high pressure hoses.

Folds up nice against and clips behind the rear window should I want to carry a large item in the bed. It locks down and is fairly safe with the tailgate locked.

I know U R looking for a trifold, or maybe roll n lock or something. I am just posting this Full Fiber Glass Cover (Mopar) for comparison. All depends what U need, this works for me. Now of course, U not gonna sit ne thing on this cover ref weight. It is just pretty much watertight, but again, I's a BOIRD ne way, and just showing U ref a comparison.IMG_0836.JPG IMG_0838.JPG IMG_0840.JPG IMG_0862.JPG

What I use as a drop in for bed, most of the bed rugs want U to put down velcro, some drill holes, this just drops in. New post, will show tailgate. They all want U to drill holes. I just put enuf down to protect tailgate and used double sided gorilla tape.

I’ve always buy a full hard cover.. this is my 2nd on on my 3rd truck.... was able to one switch to a new truck and had it repainted... paid about $1200-$1300 painted to match and installed... I added the boat type handles myself to assist with tie downs...good luck!

Ihave a version of the back flip.kind of a hard plastic top and bottom tri fold. Been on since 2013. The bars where the catches are have come loose. They used smalled screws to attach them. Replaced with a couple machine screws through the top and silicone for water tight. That has been only problem with it.

Luckily I got the idea of what you were trying to say from your pictures, but with peace & love dude... you need to work on your spelling and grammar. This isn’t a text chat between 13yr olds, it’s a forum. It would benefit everyone if you typed in full sentences and proper grammar.

BAKFLIP, on 2018 2500 6.5 bed, 4 fold...has held up well since new.

Good to hear. I ordered the BakFlip MX4.

Looks good, just not my style. Glad it’s working out for you.

Love my Extang Tri-Fold 2.0. I've had a cover on every truck I've owned, this is the cover I've purchased more than once, that's how good it is.

This was definitely on my final list of choices, I ended up going with the BakFlip MX4 though.

Great to hear that 8yrs later it is still holding strong. I ordered the BakFlip MX4 so hopefully their quality is still just as good, or better.

I tried to get the RC cover but it was sold out everywhere for the 09-18 6.4ft beds. So I moved on to choice #2; the BakFlip MX4. I got it for $775 shipped. Best price I could find it for online.
