yeah the headlights are pretty bad....as soon as I get some extra money I'm going to get the sport headlights with the HID bulbs from Retro Shop...a little expensive, but I've seen pics when they are on at night and they look amazing.

how much were those? link?

sorry, $650.00? That's nuts man. seriously for headlights? I'll stick with my LED light bar for $200.00

People drop $1000+ on tires without skipping a beat because Stock Sucks!
...Headlights should be no different, in the grand scheme of things its still a fraction of the cost of the Truck.

LED light bars are not street legal , "off road use only" and useless if you cant turn them on in City traffic.

Hardly the look I want on my ride either.... :D

Can't put a price on safety and if that means I can run down the highway at night with my projectors on without blinding someone like I would with a light bar then $650 isn't a bad deal. Plus idk how close people follow light bars out there but there are a ton of ridgid knockoffs out there that just aren't holding up so thats one more thing to worry about with a light bar.

Have you ever seen people parallel park by feel?

...a lot of these LED bars are being mounted in such a way that they are the furthest forward projection on the front bumper

How many times to you have to kiss that $200 good bye before buying a real solution instead of sticking a band aid on a broke ass piece of stock crap.

I don't think anybody uses the LED bars for headlights. Unless you want to kill people as they fly off the road.

There just for extra light on dark roads or off roading which is why they were made in the first place...

WE GET IT... YOUR FX-R Projectors are SO BAD ASS!!!
PLEASE, post more pics!!!!:)

Perhaps you missed the context of my reply, or just failed to comprehend it.
It was a response to a poster who claimed it was insane to spend $650 on better Headlights when you could just add an LED lightbar.

I suggested an off-road setup is of no use to people who want better Legal headlights
on city streets and that there is a very good reason we choose to upgrade our headlights instead.

Try to stay on topic instead of re-starting a ******* match with me or the mod's will ***** slap you again.

For the record I don't have FX-R projectors...yet

When I do I will be sure to plaster every forum you visit with photos at every possible opportunity.

Yes, we what mods you're sleeping with on here..:homoswitch: lol

Yeah, you don't have your FX's, but there in the mail gotta it. Big boyaa
You blab about like you invented them. There great but no everybody has $650 to spend on headlights, so don't shove it down there throat. That's all I'm saying.

In reference to the LED bar comment. I didn't see his quote with that whacked out F-250 from transformers

And if you want to get technical adding projectors and putting hid's in them is not DOT approved therefor not Street legal either.

I guess my opinion in all this is if given the choice and had the resources to do it right I'd spring and spend the money for the FX-R.

A LED light bar is great but you can't run it all the time and you need to turn it off even on back roads for oncoming traffic.

I would just prefer a setup that would be much more practical on a regular basis than a light bar. Individual situations vary sure but at least I could run the headlights all the time without needing to turn it on or off for oncoming traffic like a high beam.

LOL! oh yes he Did.

But he also posted this :

No matter what you are blinding people with them, especially in a truck. If your going to go to hid's do it the right way and at least do a projector conversion.

HUGE difference between running properly installed/aimed HID's in a dedicated projector housing with a low beam cut-off shield compared to an off-road LED light bar on a public road way into on-coming traffic.

You may as well compare driving 50mph over the speed limit to 5mph over as it relates to the threat to public safety,
"Technically" they are both classified as speeding, which do you think is most likely to be enforced on a public roadway?

Use a little common sense, please!

Bottom line is stock sucks,
The price you pay to make an upgrade depends on your priorities.

The best options typically cost more for a reason.
Hating on someone because they chose to spend more than $130 is completely childish.

gettin' a little heated in here.......lets cut that out ;)

As for pricing, yeah.....FXRs are not cheap. Hell......parts + time......you guys know the deal ;)

I've done over 100 of the FXR swaps in the '13 lights now. Doing another tomorrow. Another Friday......few more next week. They are quickly becoming what I do most.

Drive on them......you'll see why ;)

Its not for everyone, I get that, no product is. But, end of the day, its for those looking for the best output they can get in their Ram.

Yea I have the same problem. I dont think there's anything "wrong" with them, I think they just suck. A retro shop purchase is somewhere down the line for me when money allows.

If you don't want to, or cannot, spend the $ on the FX-R setup, then you could do what I did and just buy the drop-in HID kit from JJ (Retro Shop). They're much better than stock. Of course, I'm assuming you have oem projectors. Please do not put HIDs in a reflector housing for crying out loud!!

DOT regs are different in every state, hell in ND we can do pretty much anything we want to a vehicle as long as the licence plate is in the right spot, the bumper is a certain height off the ground, and windows aren't tinted more than 50% lol.
