I don't know if they are aimed wrong or what but i cant see 20' in front of the truck. I have a 14 outdoorsman with regular headlights. I came from a 09 f150 with regular heads and they seem to throw more light in front of the truck. Anyone else have this or is it my old eyes going bad.

Now, I came from a stock 96 chev 1500 and my lights seem to throe more light than I'm used to. But yeah, the stock lights are a little weak. HID's can help you there, it would really brighten up the stock headlamps.

I've been thinking really hard about either a light bar or a quick hid conversion kit.

Yup. Craptastic.
I added a rigid 20" sr2 between the tow hooks.
Only use it when there is no traffic.

Not sure about older Rams but all 4th Gens have weak headlights. Driving through a rural part of a highway last month, no road lighting..felt like driving in orange moonlight.

HIDs next spring.

The aftermarket headlight pods I had in my previous '01 Ram were fantastic, I've never had lights in a truck that put out light like that - the low beams were all I needed. I drove my 2013 Ram home in the dark the day I bought it and the lights were better than the custom ones in the '01 I traded in. Then again, I'm a country boy and used to poor lighting conditions on poorly lit back roads...

My Bighorn has the Quad Headlights... The High Beams are Very Good!

The Low Beams are an absolute Joke!

I was thinking about looking into replacing with LED Headlight Bulbs.
or Replacing the whole headlight assembly with the Projector Headlights that come in the other Ram Trucks. I still have to check into what exactly that will take.

Projectors are the way to go!!!!

No FX-R retro's, but they work way better than stock.

HIDs in the stock housings will help, but will probably do more harm them good with the glare if you don't aim them right.

I have HID's in my 14 Projectors and had HID's in the quads on my 09 and 13. Long as you aim them you can use hid's without projectors. I have in many cars I owned and even hate them in my 98 Trans Am.

I put some of the Silverado ZXEs in my 13 ram express and its a night and day difference. Next best thing to hids imo but I have no complaints.

No matter what you are blinding people with them, especially in a truck. If your going to go to hid's do it the right way and at least do a projector conversion.

Stock Quads are a joke

quad1_zps17011ca8.jpg

I upgraded my 10' Sport to the new 13+ Projectors with drop-in HID kit
(JJ at the RetroShop fixed me up with the Heads, Adapters and HID's)

I was stoked, but decided I wanted the Best and custom ordered another set with FX-R upgrade.

Should be here within a week along with HID's for my Fogs
and adapters for my LED tail lights. :favorites13:

Put one of these on your truck! Bright as hell...but really can't use them in traffic unless you don't mind blinding everyone else.

My black express package included projector headlights and they are very good. I have had other Chrysler products over the years and the one thing they all had in common was that the base headlights sucked.

sorry to say, but not much has changed,
the stock projector lights are still just Halogen bulbs

Few shots of the OEM Haloegen projectors vs OEM with HID vs FXR with HID

Upgraded from the Quad headlights and fogs. Pics do speak for themselves. Got these in last weekend "RETRO SHOP". Nice and Easy!
