2012 ram 1500 5.7. I drove to the store today everything is going good, came out jumped in turned key..... nothing. I have full power (air radio lights window ect) but my tpms lights up trailer brakes light up serv 4wd traction control light up. I replaced battery still nothing. I assume its gotta be electric due to all warning lights and not starter. Had my 3 month old with me and an hour from home and it was hot in the sunlight so I had to uber back home($60) drop him off and get a ride from a friend($20) back to truck with tools and new battery($180), after checking all fuses and relays i gave up and called a tow($220). I'm already out almost 500 bucks with all the combined so I want to elemenate spending hundreds by just throwing parts hoping to fix it and maybe some of you know the root to my issue. Thanks

Have a buddy crawl under and tap on your starter with a small hammer while you start it up.

I did tap starter along with t case solenoid as buddy tried key ( I read t case can mis understand what gear the trans is in??) I could be wrong but with my warning lights it seems security or electrical short? I'd hate to buy another computer. I've had to buy a tipm on my 06 Cummins twice one on my wife's '11 jeep and one on my 98 jeep.... damn I love mopar but this has got to stop.

Bypass TIPM easy deal to rule that out, or it could be ignition, the code reader "thinks" you shut off truck and often wont through a code for ignition. Bypass TIPM to cig lighter so it's not hot.

I have not checked safety switch. I did shake shifter and try in park and neutral a few times.

What exactly am I bypassing? The entire TIPM? Or just a certain circuit?

see which relay is bad by testing it...

You can also fix TIMP's with solder gun and amperage tester way cheaper then buying them.

fix tipm below, and no you don't want to bypass TIPM you can cause plenty of damage to that part if you do. But you can take advantage of unused relays, but you can bypass ignition safely. Chew on those vids, good luck partner.

Update... purchased a computer from. Flagship one for $270 came programed for my VIN. Truck fires right up. I took it for a test drive and everything works like it should but I noticed my factory sub wasn't working. Came home looked and found rear storage compartments full of water. (Sealed third brake light with silicone, that looked to be where my leak originated) the connector for the sub was submerged so could that have fried the computer? No fuse was blown. Thanks again everyone

As far as the brake light you should go to home depot and buy some rubber weatherstrip. They have black weatherstrip about 1/4 in thick and 3/4 in wide, works well. That way when you need to replace a bulb you wont have to peel silicone off and have to caulk it again.

I fixed mine in 2016, still dry. The issue is the gasket, here is a thread on it. Once the flat gasket is gone, this stuff just don't leak. That must have been a mess with silicone?

I used what I had on hand. I'm about 20 min from closest store that would have any weather strip. No mess at all. Will be a pain when I go to replace a bulb I'll get some strip for when I need to but for now it'll do the job
