Haveing trouble with hids

Everybody running hids headlights. I have had nothing but problems with mine one here lately dose not come on it will come on when I unlock the truck but when I start it up and it waits for a sec to come on it dose not light up. I thought if I bought a good set for my head lights and a cheap set for my fog lights it seems like my good set r junk. I contacted the people where I got them from they sent me the longest email on what to check it was such ********* i thought I'm not doing all that. Can any one help me has anybody had this problem thanks

What brand of ballast are you running? Mine are flickering and if its real cold sometimes one wont turn on. Emailed JJ about it and was told that the type of ballast I was running had a recall. They are sending me a new set of ballasts.

I had the same issue with mine and TRS replaced them at no charge. They have new and improved ballasts that work great. No issues. Contact TRS and explain your issue. They will replace them.

Retro Solutions has lost a lot of customers over the past year due to their lack of service and the fact that they were not standing behind the warranty they claim to offer. I would contact the Retro Shop, and let them set you up with 1 of their new kits. I just installed them on my truck a few days ago, and they are perfect. I have now installed 6 sets of their new HID's (2 on my truck, 2 on my dad's truck, and 2 on a friends truck). Each kit is working perfect with no flickering.

Are you running HID Relays to these HIDs?

If you're not I would suggest buying some to see if this corrects your issue. If you're running 55w Ballasts I would suggest a dual relay set up. You can buy it from Morimoto or build a set yourself for a fraction of the price (see my http://www.ramforum.com/f75/diy_dual_relay_dual_trigger_harness-44149/)

I'm running a cheap eBay kit ( 50$ ) since 2 1/2 years without any issues during this time. Work flawlessly. They was on my sierra for more than 2 year, and sierra use low beam for drl. So they had the same number hours of running than my engine : 978 hours. + 3 months on my ram ( I did some delivery, so they got on and off thousands of time)

if I turn the headlights on immediately theres no issue

if I from using DRL's or parking lights (like when starting with remote start) then turn the headlights on later - sometimes only one turns on.....sometimes neither and they wont until I turn the truck off and restart it.

Yea same issue it's just annoying
I flick it to my fogs and just drive with those most them time now

And I'm being broad in my response, as there are multiple years here listed and multiple problems, different kits, etc....

Most of the time the issues are in the harness. These trucks are fun sometimes with HIDs. The 09-12 Rams with quad lights are pretty simple, relay and cap, done. If the cap isn't plugged in right though......it may work for a while, then flicker, or just go out. It will work with a capacitor installed in reverse polarity.......but I believe RetroSolutions changed to a capacitor relay, so that shouldn't be the issue. Do you have any corrosion on the connections?

On the ballast issues we saw with my supplier (TRS), it was an odd one for sure........running the same technology in ballasts for almost 2 years, and all of a sudden ... issues? Odd......found that the igniters were not powering sometimes, so they were BEEFED up. Big time........and the ballasts impacted were recalled, and replaced. But, that would only be for guys that had them from me, TRS or any of the TRS authorized retailers.

Well I went out tonite checked all the connects there was no sigh of corrosion. When I hit the unlock the light would flicker for a sec right in the middle then nothing could my ballsas be bad not powering that light?
