I just bought a set of OE Black Quad head light housings off Ebay, what are the best LED to put in them? I want to install both the low beam and the high beams, before installing them. I have been looking at the Headlight Revolution Super Nova V.3 and the Diode Dynamics SL1, I have been hearing the SL1 are a better light, but the Super Nova are $100 cheaper. Are the SL1 a $100 better? I don't mind spending the extra money if they are in fact that much better. What do you all think?

I also just replaced my chrome quads with black bezel quads.
I bought the supernova v3( lows only) and am very happy with light output. I dont use my highs alot so didnt spend the $ on them, have led lows and 2 sets of aftermarket pods.
I installed bulbs only, no cancellors , and have had NO issues for 2 months now. No flickering or anything and I use them everyday. Leave the house usully 430 am

I'm definitely leaning towards the supernova v3, $130 with the anti-flicker module seems like a really good price, Vs the SL1 for $180 with the anti-flicker module.

Thanks for the input!

Unfortunatly I cant say anything about the SL1 so my response is only one sided to your question.
I love the look of the black bezel lights and the supernova works great. I carry the module in the truck in case of issues but so far so good!

I’ve had issues with the supernovas. They keep burning out. First the left, they sent a replacement, then the right, they sent a replacement and the right just went out again. Basically threw my money away with these.

Although it’s never a good idea to throw LEDs in reflector housings or really anything aside from fog lights. They will still be better than HIDs in projectors. Since you don’t have really any option I’ll say don’t spare any expense in lighting. Go with supernova or GTR lights. Both are very good GTR is my personal favorite. Had them in my fogs before I got my morimotos. Here’s a picture of my GTRs fogs only. be0c2731ed2b46f57939c0376b214c55.jpg

I have also had issues with the supernova v3s.

At just about the one year mark one of mine burned out. Thankfully, Headlight Revolution sent me another one.

I wish I took a photo of the one that failed, one of the LEDs on the board melted and left a black charred mark on the metal housing of the bulb.

Here's a thread I started on my failed Supernova.

https://www.ramforum.com/threads/supernova-v3-led-headlight-failure.122122/

I never did list my quads for sale though. OEM projector swap is still high on my wish list.

I have DDM Tuning LEDs in the stock quad housings, have used DDM for a long time. Always happy with the products. Their customer service has been top notch on the one bulb i have ever had an issue with as well.

They are significantly less expensive than either option listed here.

I have the Supernova V.2s and they are a vast improvement over OEM bulbs. Headlight Revolution has both GTR and SuperNovas just pick your poison as they are both great options.

I'll throw these out there since nobody else has mentioned them... The OPT7 Fluxbeam-X bulbs are really good. I've been using them in my 2014 for a little over a year and they have worked great!

They are priced around $100-$110 for a pair of bulbs. They come with the drivers, resistors, whatever you call them to add to the wiring. It's all plug and play.

I talked to him, he also recommended the SL1 but does not sell them. Talked to him before I asked. Never bought anything from him, but he answers all my text quickly. Seems like a great guy!
