Curious if there is 7 inch head unit that is most popular.

Local place here is pushing Pioneer. Another install place said Alpine are popular but recent models are not as intuitive as Pioneer. I like the look of the stock radio but I need bigger screen. I saw a 8 inch that come with he besil but it was $3k. I can get a 7 installed for around $800.

Thanks.

What do you have now? I just got a new 2012 ram, it has the factory CD player, I'm going to go back to the rbz in there as soon as I sell my lockpick and the mygig uconnect module I have..

I have the stock 5". Looks like I will get one of the Pioneer 7" NEX models. Got the Apple Car play. I have JL sub and door speakers with a JL 700 watt 5 ch amp. I really like the blue tooth on my stock radio it's important that the aftermarket is just as good. But I have no idea. Need to research

You can't go wrong with pioneer head units. They are always solid. As far as specific ones for our trucks, I wouldn't know. But if I were looking, it would be pioneer or alpine for sure.

Are you going to lose any functionality with controls or vehicle information by switching the uConnect head unit? I'm not familiar with the capabilities of the 5" model that came with your truck.

Few guys have gone with this NAV radio thing, Looks factory and has a ton of features. About $500 . I went with a kenwood DDX492, mostly for bluletooth hands free phone (had stock 3.0 radio) I like the radio but went with a volume knob, so got a 6 nch screen instead of 7 inch screen and volime buttons. SOel reason I went with this radfio, volume knob and it is recessed so far behind trim panel and too darn small for my old hands, it is worthless.

Stick with all buttons, no knobs, in pioneer or whatever, unless you go with the S100 OEM style radio knockoff.

My Knewood knob is ticking me off so much I am even thinking of getting that oen instead, myself, and selling the kenwood.

wife says to wait ofr a month and see hwo it grows on me.

will see

Dave
