I have a 2018 2500 tradesman and I am pretty dissapointed with the stock headlights. My buddy has a 2018 1500 tradesman and he is also disappointed with his. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best replacement options LED/HID? Trying not to spend too much but also want to notice a difference. Thanks!

Best thing to do is ditch the quads and go projectors then throw in a quality HID in the projector. If that’s not possible then throw in a quality LED in your quad housing and you will see a big difference just not as big as a projector style headlamp with HIDs.

Here’s a link to some LEDs that are really great quality

If you have the time and patience I would put projectors and HIDs in them. LEDs do put more output but in our headlights. Top pic of LED low beam output in stock headlights. Bottom is LED in retrofit projectors.dea87f64016491ec201688e372abcabb.jpg3b16c21fc053b5187606398675c4cbf9.jpg

I did cheap amazon housings with LED and the conversion harness from retrofit or headlight revolution. I have $475 in the whole thing.

For 2013-2018 RAM 1500 2500 3500... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C5CW8CZ?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

You need 1-H7 and one 9005
Globled 9005 200W 20000LM HB3 H10... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787XKY79?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I have a spare one of these PM me if you want it.

I know guys are gonna get crazy about the cheap amazon stuff but for less than half of OEM it works very well.

I bought a set of bright led's and put them in my quads. The low beams I was able to find some that I got to fit with the stock covers. The high beams were difficult. I found some rubber domed caps that fit where the stock caps covered them & I clamped them with zip ties. No problems with moisture getting in. Cost me about 30 per set for lows & highs + another 12 bucks for the rubber caps all on ebay. Been that way since last October. Bright as hell. No problem seeing the road. I recently upgraded all the stock fixtures with LEDs, not a hallogen left on my truck.

DA5F3B39-431A-4D3F-8EEE-7A02767DD72A.jpeg I just did the Opt 7 LED upgrades in my 2018 quad housing. They send you all the possible adapters with the lights for $89 with coupon. I had to lower them to get the top of the beam where it was before.

Huge difference as you can see from the picture I loaded with one installed. I had to aim them down a bit from the factory adjustment or I’d be blinding everyone. I didn’t need the included capacitors or the resisters, just the wiring adapter.

Thanks.
I forgot to edit out my first part btw - that didn't make any sense lol.
Where did you get the Opt 7s from? Install go good?

I bought direct from them. The install was easy, you just need to read all the install instructions about the resisters and such. They get really hot and will melt things. Thankfully I didn’t need them

I have an 18 1500 with quads and just installed these LED Eagle LEDs in my lows and put Phillips X-tremeVision 100% Halogens in my highs and they are 10x better than the crap stocks. I can see my lights reflecting off signs on the grid I drive about a mile away with my highs and can see tons with my lows (probably about 1/2mile). I'll get pics of them soon. I am very picky with my lights and am still re-aiming them so they're perfect.

Here's my exact setup from Amazon.
Lows: https://www.amazon.com/Headlight-Conversion-12000LM-CREE-XD-Replace/dp/B07C8RDQ47 (pretty sure these are what headlight revolution use)
CANBUS: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B072F6XJK3 (Canadian address but you get the idea)
Highs: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-X-tremeVision-Upgrade-Headlight-Vision/dp/B01C5QY7DW (one of the brightest halogens per bulbfacts.com)

All told I found this to be the most economical way to improve the quads without getting new housings.
