Got the mod bug and started with new HID heads and LED fogs from Sidetracked Offroad (they rock btw!).

I've purchased the Sidetracked flushmount LEDs now to scorch the retinas of unscrupulous tailgaters in the Metropolitan DC area during my long commutes. How should I wire these bad boys? I wanted to dash mount a switch that can be used to turn the function on/off and not tie into the backups.

I'm basically starting from zero. What do I tie into for power? What wires do I need? How do I connect the switch from the cabin to the lights? Any recommendations for a cool switch? Thank you for the help, I've been able to use the resources here for my fogs and heads!

(I'm attaching this picture while my new heads are getting finished...had the harnesses and ballasts wired up and took the last headlight out of the box only to find that UPS had absolutely destroyed it.)

When I wire up my aux lights in the back, I am going to tie into my switch that turns on the cargo lamp, no extra switches on the dash and will come in handy during plow season when Im working on down equipment in a blizzard.

do you want the lights to come on automatically with your reverse lights as well?

No, don't want to blind the undeserving drivers LoL
Well doing it that way they would only come on when you're backing up the truck. So you wouldn't be blinding anyone lol

not if you use a relay and a switch, be it a on/off/on switch or a single on/off. could be wired so they come on with the reverse lights/off/constant.

I do a fair amount of city driving in washington dc...any 3 point turn, parallel parking would def hit someone. Regardless, I'm looking for all options so thank you for the suggestion!

You can get the power and ground from the trailer hitch wiring if you want. Then wire up the switch.
