I am looking to add the middle jump seat to my 16 RT sport. Having the ability to carry 2 of my kids around would help a lot. Does anyone know if it is required to change out the dash bezel? or would I just need the lower dash pieces? Also, I want to add the middle shoulder seat belt as well. Is this seat belt the same middle seat belt that is in the rear middle of quad/crew cabs? are they interchangeable or is the part number somehow different? I'm hoping my existing dash bezel would work and that I only need the lower dash pieces, jump seat, and seat belt to do this job. I'm not selling the console as it will be reinstalled sometime in the future. Thanks if anyone can help

The dash bezel is different. If you go shopping for a bezel you don't necessarily have to find one that matches your current bezel. You can swap all the pieces except the vents.

Technically you don't have to swap the bezel or get the other dash pieces, but I feel it would look bad. Clean swap requires the new bezel and lower pieces. I would also recommend the small tray that sits just in front of the jump seat. It will cover two holes in the carpet.

Middle seat is only a lap belt. I don't know where you would mount the upper shoulder belt. One side of the jump seat's seat belt mounts to the drivers seat and the other mounts on the passenger side of the seat. I'm also looking for a solution for shoulder belt for my oldest when he sits up front. There is a company EZ-On that makes seat harnesses for lap belt only seats. They might work for you if your cab has the car seat anchors on the back of the cab.

To look factory you will need the bezel, dash pieces, floor tray (to cover the 2 holes in the carpet), jump seat, and seat belts (if the jump seat doesn't come with one).

When I swapped my console all of the jump seat wiring was plug and play. I found a jump seat that had all the same features. (Media station and CD player)

My dash has chrome trim around the ac vents and around part of the dash. I cannot seem to find one of those anywhere but I'm thinking maybe they only made them for the Sport models. If I change the dash bezel to a non chrome trim one, then my left and right ac vents by the doors will be different than the middle.

you could always paint the chrome rings so they all match or even vinyl wrap them. On my sport I vinyl wrapped them (especially the chrome ring on the console to stop the sun reflecting in my eyes)20170409_152203.jpg

Thank for the idea. Do they sell a kit to vinyl wrap them? Or did you take it somewhere to be done. So you just removed all the chrome trim pieces, wrapped, then reattach? Do they come off easily. I don't really need to do the console as I'm going to pack it up for now. And is the vinyl removable if I want to go back to stock?

the chrome on the radio bezel doesn't come completely off(held on with plastic welds)

for the vents by the doors you can pop the whole assembly out of the truck, then they can be disassembled down to just the chrome ring.

I bought sheets of vinyl off amazon and just cut as needed and applied. Yes it can later be taken off later on.

Great. Thanks for the idea. That helps a lot. The other person said I can use any of the dash bezels as most of the pieces I can take off to attach to the new bezel? Am I following right? Also I have the same color dash bezel as yours in the pic, the medium gray color which matches my current center console. Do they have dash bezel when using the jump seat in the same gray color??? Thanks for the help. I just got my truck but am looking to get a seat in it quickly so I can take my other son in it. I love the console but not as practical right now.

I think you might be able to find one in that color.

Yea I definitely want the same gray color as I have now. So the bottom pieces of the dash when using the jump seat are not compatible with the dash bezel of when using the console? Cant really find pics on it. Are the bottoms of the dash bezel completely different?

Thanks for clarifying with your links, I appreciate it. One last thing the 2nd link you sent seems like the same gray color I already have. Do i basically swap most of the pieces on my old dash to the new dash bezel? i.e. the middle screen part, knobs section, and lower portion which houses the tow buttons, heated seats buttons? I think I just remove from old dash and swap to new dash?

I swapped all of the knobs and buttons when I went to the jump seat. If they are identical I doubt you would have to. Part of my swapping all of the controls was knowing all mine were already working. I didn't know the condition of the controls from the donor truck.

I just did this swap last month with another forum member who happened to live close by. I gave him my console and i took his jump seat. Ram did a good job having everything the same, mine is a 2015 2500 his was a 14 1500. We had the trucks side by side so we didnt miss a thing. We had to swap a few clips so that attachment points lined up. The hvac vent swapped out well and fit under my carpet, my ram even had the two plugs tucked all the way up inside the dash to connect the two 12V accesory outlets that are mounted on the front bezel. Ram left enough slack to run the harness that was connecting my console from behind the radio bezel to be moved to underneath the drivers seat and connect with the jump seat harness. If you have any questions about the swap/install let me know its still fresh in my head! ;)
