Guys, had my 2.5" HBS spacers and zone UCAs installed today and had the front end aligned. Well, I get home and just happened to glance at the instructions and see that the arms are side specific due to the ball joint being offset to the rear...I look at mine and realize they're on THE WRONG SIDES.

The shop won't be open again until Monday and I don't know whether it is alright to drive or not tomorrow and Sunday.

Opinions?

How is that possible? The ball joints come installed already correct? Should only be one way to put them on, with the ball joint facing down...

I think my mechanic may have done the same thing... i had it installed today (zone UCAs and 2" spacer) and theres a clunk when i go over the smallest bumps. look at the ucas and they just look funny. theres no marking on them to say which side they're supposed to go on from what i could see.

The ball joints are not completely centered on the control arms. One side of the arm is slightly shorter than the other. The longer side should face the front of the vehicle putting the ball joint towards the rear.

Mine were installed with the longer end of the UCA towards the rear.

Edit: Here you can see how they look when properly installed. Longer part of arm to the front, ball joint closer to the rear. Mine were installed opposite.

I gotcha. I wasn't thinking, you can just turn them 180* to install them backwards. Hopefully they get you fixed up early Monday, they better!

Yeah I'm going up there first thing Monday morning. Hopefully it won't take long to switch them over and realign.

Just an update for anyone interested...had the control arms swapped to the correct sides this morning and realigned. Feels less "flighty" and got rid of a weird vibration I was feeling.

I'd have to say now that everything is correct, I feel really good about my choices in products. (HBS and Zone)

Now I just need some 35's, a toolbox, and a Ranch Hand! :favorites13:
